These linguistic memes often escape me =|
As an American, I'm glad they do. It's embarrassing.
Nice picture, though

I've been always a big fan of Cussler's Oregon Files series for light reading. Now that I'm done with military impressions I've decided to build a kit based on what I'd use if I were one of Juan Cabrillo's gun-toting shore ops crew members.
This was totally up to me so I use what I have lying around. I need to get a new chest rig because my GP pouches interfere with belt-mounted magazine draw. I think I'll go BFG. For water I just throw on my Camelbak MULE. I'd like to pick up some kind of low profile armor carrier and move the chest rig TACO to the belt so I can run just armor and a belt when I want to. The way I'll be able to keep the new chest rig a little lighter.
-Eagle LE chest rig
-HSGI and ATS pouches
-Tyr Tactical Gunfighter's Belt
-TACO
-EGL dumper
-Crye Gun Clip
-Blackhawk! Gladius
The firearms:
Barrett Rec7 is mentioned as the primary long arm of The Corporation in all of the more recent books. I think the last one in which it isn't included is Dark Watch (Juan and Linc use M4A1's at the end). The Glock 19 is mentioned in Dark Watch, Plague Ship, and the newest one, The Jungle, so is definitely in the Oregon's armory. I'd like to pick up a new MP5, but I'm not sure what to go for. In Dark Watch I'm pretty sure Cussler describes MP5SD's of some kind, but newer books mention MP5A4's.
I'll find time to take pictures of myself all set up in decent light soon.

And for those of us not in the know, which fictional character has this weapon?
Juan Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon from Clive Cussler's Oregon Files.

Got some parts in to start the next phase of my M4's life, something I haven't seen in this thread in a while. Now I just need to track down a MB 9" OmegaX in black. SOPMOD stuff will be for sale once I can be sure the OmegaX will fit.
-
The RIS II is either MB or SOCOMGear. I can't remember. I seem to have gotten lucky with the finish on it, though.
It looks like the barrel nuts are the same. I looked on DD's site and it says that the Omega X uses their "Bolt Up" mounting system, which is the same as the RIS II. If that's the case, then I have the G&P spec nut.

I have a question that you guys may be able to help with. I'm getting bored of my Block II setup and am considering changing into a Barrett Rec7. The issue is that I'd need to add a Madbull 9" Omega X rail. Will this fit a G&P upper receiver thread? I'm not even sure how those mount. I have the G&P barrel nut for my RIS II, but I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.
And since this is a picture thread, here are some (pretty awful) pictures of my rifle as it stands.

How was the blank-firing integrated into the scenario? Both in terms of safety and gameplay.

I don't think my scope is a Hammers, or if it is it must be rebranded. It's a Centerpoint 1-4x. I was at the surplus store picking up a new TLR-1 for my Glock and ended up taking this home.

Love the pants!
They emersons i assume?
If you're asking about mine, they're Crye Precision AC.

Does it not work like the VFC/real one?
You take the gun down, remove the buffer spring (fake buffer spring on AS), and then the charging handle is free to move as far back as the rounded slot, where you can rotate and remove it.

Nice! I got to play around with one at the store and I was impressed. Very solid, but light and pointable. The only reason I didn't buy it is because I went to the shop specifically to buy something old-school.

I never quite know where to put this. I know it uses an AK-style piston but I doubt it will interest the AK boys, so I'll classify it by its magazine. I know that's a lot like judging a person by what he eats but, hey, I do that all the time.
I couldn't pass up getting the current correct stock for my XCR, so here it is. I love this little gun.

-Element M600
-G&P T-1
-PTS Rainer mini-comp

You've got to be kidding me...
-
Very subtle. It reminds me of Far Cry 3.
-
Thanks! I'm usually not an early adopter when it comes to new parts and accessories, but I like the stock quite a bit. It's pretty tiny but I guess it's not much smaller than the OEM one. It extends to about the same length as a full rifle stock. My only complaint is that they did away with the built-in sling loop and instead put a QD socket on the bottom. I'll just have to get a loop soon.

My G&P/SOCOMGear Block II:
I'm pretty happy with it at this point, though it is a bit front-heavy.

Upgraded my optic and barrel. It doesn't take too long to switch barrel lengths.

My FN's. Excuse the poor picture. I live on campus so I have limited time available to visit them.
