yet another quick-fire question: do LiPo batteries get more shots per mAh than NiCD or NiMH? I heard they did.

Yeah, I know you shouldn't let a LiPo drop below 3v per cell, my mate's just ordered a LiPo so if I find anything out I'll post somewhere on here
For NiCD/NiMH, obviously it depends on your gun but I reckon for a 1J AEG it is about 1 BB per mAh. I've heard as many as 4 or 5 for LiPo.
(with my 260 fps Spets I probably get closer to 2

No hard and fast rule. Just need to try it out with your set up. 'Infected' did a great article on Lipo batteries on Arnies that I read before switching over to them. You should search for it, I think it's been pinned, but not sure in which category.
