Goes to order Blasters.
You rock. Your reviews are very well rounded, and we all appreciate you going to this effort. It's great to see empirical data, over such a range of ammo types too.
Many thanks.

I don't think this is the place to ask. But I'll answer anyway. The CA gun is likely to be just an AEG inside. Nothing special. I've never been terrible impressed with CA internals, can't see this being any different. Externally as well, the CA is going to be poorly finished pot metal no? Adding the real furniture will most likely mean heavily customizing the motor housing. If it's even possible to fit a real stock.
The Real Sword (RS) internals are as best I can tell, something special. Having seen some video's of the accuracy, along with tests at 30 and 50m from a forum member, I'm already impressed by the RS in terms of operation. The externals, well, what to say? I'd assume they're built in the same factory as the real Chinese SVD clones. As is the case with the Type 56 and the Type 97. So, they aren't going to be beat easily. I don't think there's any way that CA will come close to the RS SVD. Just compare a CA AK to an RS Type 56. Price wise as well, I'm not sure how much the CA cost, but you're bound to be getting better value from the Chinese made RS.
On the other hand, I've got an RS SVD on pre-order, so I'm bound to be bias.
That real furniture has a lovely shade to it. Really improves the overall look of the rifle.
@ Pudding: Any chance of some information about that scope? Magnification ect. Is that the one that came with the gun?

That's something special. Great job on the trigger guard and barrel.

Would have PM'd, but a think a few other people may be interested. Not actually a review either... never mind. It's better than nothing.

Freshly painted customized M733 carbine. Based on the one commandeered and used by Danny Archer in Blood Diamond.
some pictures
All it needs now is use.
I think that looks much nicer than the ones they used in blood diamond. Great paint job, you should be proud of yourself.

The whole world disagrees with you. http://www.internetslang.com/CBA.asp
Not even the unpopular ones on urban dictionary think you're right. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=CBA
In case anyone was wondering how well the extractor fix works, it does wonders. My friend installed it on his m1100 revision. It was barely noticeable, and instantly started ejecting properly again.

I think it's his gun, and that it looks mighty fine either way.

I don't hate the AUG. I think it's a beautiful rifle. I really like the design, the feel, everything apart from the mags. Someone asked about AUG mags. I gave an opinion, that hadn't been voiced up till that point. And for your knowledge, I'm not an M4 fan-boy either. They just never felt right to me. That's an entirely different point though, which I'll leave. I currently own an MP5, which I'm very happy with ergonomically, and a number of sniper rifles.
Edit: Did you assume I'm American, or was that just a general comment?
-
Well, they don't fit in any fast draw mag pouches, and the catch alot. There's nothing wrong with the TM feed mechanism or anything, just don't like the shape of them. I know I'm going to sound like an elitist saying this, but because I'm used to good, normal M4 mags, anything that doesn't work quite so well is a disappointment. Although, admittedly, I haven't had any pouches designed to take AUG mags (are there any?) I still don't think they're as ergonomic as an M4 mag. If I sound like I'm being picky about a second or so shuffling in a mag change, it's because I am. When using the M4, I got my reload times down to around 3-5 seconds. When useing AUG mags, that could be anywhere from 5-20 seconds. The bull-pupness I was willing to put up with. The mags catching and being thicker set in the pouches, was too much. I'm guessing Hedge is talking about drawing from a webbing style pouch, where I was talking about drawing from a MOLLE open top mag pouch.
-
I don't want to get into a massive argument. But magpul invented these little things, that help your mag draw, when your mags are stored upside down... Anyway. I guess it's no problem if you have your mags up the "right" way.
-
Tops down, always, with any mag. It's personal choice. It's the way I work. I find tops down allows me to pull it quicker, into a position where I'm able to load the mag, into the gun. It's all about speed, for me. Unfortunately AUG mags are useless. So I sold my AUG.
-
Problem with M4 mag pouches is that the lip on the AUG mag, to hold it in the mag well, catches on the seems in the M4 mag pouch. I never found a solution to this. They hold the mags fine, just don't expect to be able to get them out as smoothly as with M4 mags.

Well, I want to see your second attempt...
Great work. Really good lines there. Suits the gun.

I thought they look good with elcans, but that's just blown me away. I love it.
That's fairly small for Gen1. What magnification?
-
a bit off topic here, but anyone remember on the dark knight, there was a bloke in a helicopter (IIRC) with an M16 that had a rather odd looking RDS setup. looked like a weaver mounted russian kobra sight mounted directly in front of the carry handle.
any screencaps?
I though I saw a Trijicon reflex there. Like this:
Sure I've seen the screen cap of it before, but can't find it for the life of me. Fairly sure it's a Trijicon though.
Here's a linky to their site. Click me.

Well if it's going to be a GBB thread, at least include the AKs and other GBBs that may appear. How about the old Escort's too, are are we only interested in new and fanciful GBB styles? Personally, I hope this is locked. The KAC picture thread is bad enough.
-
Skladfin, that's awesome. So much like the M40A1 stock, but so much better at the same time. I'm in love.
Pkekyo-Nor, I may be mistaken, but I believe that image first shooter posted is a photo of a wall in an airsoft shop, or on display at a game site. For sale, not his.
Frankly I think that paint job, is not befitting of a £1200 gun.
-
Academy L85s in Firefly I believe. The train job episodes the best to see it. The color is totally off.
-
That's the exact same list of guns, as WGC have in their LCT section. I'd guess, maby, just maby, they are LCT guns.
-
The SPR flash hider looks very nice on that. Good work on the magwell conversions, to both parties. Any feeding issues?
-
Why don't you start a thread in the technical discussion section, rather than spamming a picture thread?
Mr. Grumpy-Pants strikes again. Excuse my bluntness, but this annoys me.
(Yes, I do realize the irony in this post. Shh!)
-
That picture is so you. It's unbelievable.
Empty bottle and all...
-
That gun is saved by it's fixed carry handle. Actually looks quite good because of it I think... Any pictures of it with normal grip?
