The bolt works in the upper, but I've found that the v1 bolt, and the v2 buffer piston don't always jive so well...
-
Correct. My upper does not have the wobble issue that you're having. I do have a magic pin left over from a WOC I used to own, and it does not fit...

I know for sure that they wont sell the lowers, so I'm assuming the uppers are the same, which means a yes to cannibalizing another full gun.

Aeg fixed stock wont work given the way most of them mount internally. More than likely have to use a real steel, or gbb specific version... Riptide, all version 2 denotes is a new bcg, and some updated parts that work in conjunction w/ it.
-
Unfortunately aeg stocks vary as well. I can't remember offhand what I have on my kjw currently, but can find out when I get home by comparing w/ my real steel.

Ouch, shoulda held out on the npas till you read some of its reviews on here first. Supposedly they don't hold out very long.

I had one, as well as a couple of the various VFC grenade type gas chargers. I found that at best, they only filled a couple mags. Typically, the volume of gas held was negligible at best in most cases, and they just couldn't fill as well as the green propane canisters. At this point, I'm running a maxpedition(I think) nalgene pouch on my belt line, that is perfect for holding a propane/mapp-pro cylinder w/ the fill adapter still attached and even has room for a couple full size speed reloaders in the outer pouch...

You had to modify the BAD lever? I've got both the Magpul version, and the Troy version, and both fit w/o modification. As for the ambi fire select, I have an extra RS Troy ambi lever, but there are 2 issues with it. 1. Its too wide from what I can tell, and 2. Its only semi auto. As for aftermarket gbb selector switches, I'm not sure what might fit. You might just have to find someone who can custom engrave your lower for you. I'm thinking about having mine done at some point...

I haven't physically compared them, but a visual comparison between the M4 release valve, and those used in the KJW M9 mags shows that they look identical. I wouldn't be surprised if they're the same across the board...

Stick with the stock hop up rubber. It works the best from an all around perspective...
-
Great! I'm thinking of trying it out w/ the colder temps...

I'm on my phone, so my search capability of this thread is limited, but I was wondering if anyone had tried MAPP gas through their KJW's yet? If so, post up your successes or failures please!
-
Wotty, I believe you've posted this before(that or I've seen something similar somewhere else), and it gave me an idea. I actually went the opposite direction. I ordered another mag loading tool from KJW, and when it arrived, I used a dremel to shave out some of the inside of the hole where you insert the tube, so that the neck of a speedloader fits. That way I can carry extra 400 round speedloaders in an E&E pouch on my rig...

@5830017 - The magsare one of the gems of the KJW. Tanio Jobs made them virtually bullet proof. They are reasonably easy to break down if need be, and I rarely have leaks. Just keep some gas in them in between uses, and you should be golden. These mags blow WA type mags out of the water! On another note, I've got an RA-Tech blue hop up rubber, and Magic Pin that I'm putting up for sale. Neither have been fielded. If anyone is interested, let me know.

I just got mine, and I think it was around $30 US for all the necessary parts which come as a package deal. Its not bad at all...
-
Yes, another guy I know just got one from him recently. I think he's pretty busy w/ his other work right now, but he is still making and selling them...
-
Roger that. I had no intention of buying. Just really haven't seen much in the way of spare parts labeled for the KJW outside of yours and RA-Techs stuff. Probably b/c it doesn't need them!

Has anyone noticed this hammer that supposedly fits the KJW M4 before? http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=34627 Of course it's Matrix/Evike, but I'd be curious if the current Hammer has bearings, and if not, what sort of a difference the bearing would make in performance. Of course, bearings can be a weak point, as seen in AEG gearboxes... Thoughts?

That's pretty good results. I could never overhop any weight bb with the shrinkwrap mod. The tdc mod has made a world of difference for me.
-
If you're stateside, T_hum @ Cradle Airsoft does the mod in addition to the other parts he sells for the KJW. You just ship him your stripped down upper, he performs the mod, and ships it back to you.

Is the wear different than the pictures already posted in this thread? If not, would it make sense to round the leading edge shown in those earlier pics out before they start to wear?
-
Yes. A lot of the new stock coming out of retailers is already version 2...

He doesn't have it listed on his site. Just use the contact at cradleairsoft.com email address, and he'll get back to you.
