  1. Search g&g guns in Hong Kong . It will bring up e hobby Asia about 5 down in the sites that come up . Select e Hobbys site and then click ares on the gun makes on the left of the page and it comes up at the top of the page .used yahoo for my search .

It does NOT show the PDR as an ARES product.  A banner will pop up when viewing various manufacturers though, and 1 of the banners if for the PTS PDR.  The banners rotate from different manufacturers products.  I see no claim on ehobby's site that the PTS PDR has anything to do with ARES. And if ehobby's made an error with this type of claim, it doesn't means it's correct.  Retail websites are full of inaccurate info for any number of reasons.  To base fact is on any retailers info is a bit naïve.

Next time a screenshot will be sufficient, no need for convoluted instruction to try and replicate what you are seeing.

  2. Just had to laugh , went on e hobbies Asia website and it has ares Hong Kong / pts magpul on a picture of a pdr ... What is going on here ??

Also has an abomination at the bottom of the page

The magpul fpg is now being produced in pink !!!

Where does it say this is a "ares Hong Kong" product in reference to the PTS PDR on ehobbyasia.com?

  3. I thought the RS ranger plates couldn't fit the airsoft PMAGs, or am I wrong?

Well my Real PMAG Ranger Plates fit on the PTS PMAGs...

Performance wise, we had an event today on Camp Pendleton. I had a handful of PTS PMAGs I let a few peopel use. Multiple M4's of various bodies and internals had not fit or feeding problems with the PTS PMAGs. All SCAR's had no issues with the PMAGs. 1 older CA M15 did have some feeding issues though, but it was having feedng issues with other mags as well.

  4. PMAG Ranger plates have been available for a little over a month at real steel shops and Magpul direct. 3packs run $14.95.

Just to footnote this all, the PTS PMAGs will be tested thouroughly this weekend. I've only fitted and fed as quickly as I could in the few hours I've had free since bringing them home. Will post performance data at the end of the weekend.

Magpul PTS - PMAG 120 Round Midcap Magazine

The Magpul PTS - PMAG is a 120 round midcap magazine, modeled after Magpul's 30 round PMAG for Armalite style rifles.

Magpul PTS - PMAG Bottom Plate

The PMAG has an allen screw as well as a spring loaded button, which keeps the floor plate secure. I originally thought the allen screw also kept the magazine internals in place, but fortunately it doesn't which accommodates the use of Real Steel PMAG Ranger Plates.

    Magpul PTS - PMAG Upper

There is a pin, just below the feeder mechanism. I believe that this pin is what is securing the magazines internals, but will confirm later (I cannot find my armorers punch of that pin size right now)

Top Magpul PMAGs. Bottom Magpul PTS PMAGs

You'll notice, while the PTS PMAGs resemble the Real Steel PMAGs, side by side comparison shows differences in dimension, design and material used.

    Magpul PMAG Comparison

The build of the PTS PMAG is solid and as mentioned above, the PTS PMAGs use the real PMAG Ranger Plates. They are only held on by the spring loaded button when you replace the stock floor plate You do not need to use the allen screw.

Magpul PMAG PTS on: Magpul M4, CA SCAR, TM M4 S-System

So far, I've test fitted and fired the PTS PMAGs on all my AEG's that take STANAG type magazines and a few in shop at AEX. Feeding has been flawless for far, but will have more detailed test results after this weekend.

  6. yes, plastic body on the EGLM had some prominent seams and no detailing on the magazine well. I don't think the upper is anodized on the black version or it's a cheap ano, not a hard ano finish. The loose lower rail, combined with "sticky" action of the EGLM to open and close didn't help the "feel" of the entire AEG with Launcher attached. I'm sure most of those issues could be fixed though. Wasn't the best first impression.

  7. AEX received a Star SCAR in stock with EGLM today, and of course, I had to not only test the Star Scar out, but had to test fire the EGLM on all the different SCARS; )

    Star SCAR

The build was pretty rough when compared to both VFC and CA. Star seemed to have copied the VFC with the rear battery hinge contacts. this specific SCAR had a very loose lower rail. Which unfortunately made the EGLM feel "wobbly" on the Star SCAR. The Star SCAR fired at around 355 fps, and gearbox sounded nice a strong.

    Star EGLM

The Star SCAR EGLM can fire 40mm airsoft grenades. It sides open in much the same way as an under slung M203 style launcher. But when launcher is fully opened, you can cant the launcher tube left or right to aid in grenade insertion. The build is mostly plastic. The trigger placement is great where you can still engage the trigger on the SCAR itself and the launcher simultaneously.

    post-532-1209137419_thumb.jpg

The Launcher attaches to the lower rail of the SCAR. The 2 side Quick Detach levers are actually more like side pressure levers. There are 2 threaded set screw holes which actually secure the launcher to the lower rail. it works perfectly on the Star and VFC SCARs, but the set screws do not line up correctly on a CA SCARs.

Star EGLM Mounted on a VFC SCAR

Mounting and fit were extremely easy on a VFC SCAR.

Star EGLM Mounted on a CA SCAR

Mounting and fit were slightly "off" on the CA SCAR series. As mentioned above, the set screw holes were off on the CA Scar rails. We could only use the QD pressure side levers to secure the launcher. The magwell also didn't line up 100%, so you had to "wiggle" the magazines in place. Should be a relativley easy fix though.

  8. Yes "we" have an ORCA here, but I never have posted anything on Militaryphotos.net. ORCA's not that uncommon of a name either way. Plus I spend way too much money and time on my own shizzo to be ripping off other peeps pics ;P Plus ther's enough of my DW pics all over anyway.

  10. yeah its no way as brown as that in real life. My camera doesn't do it any favours.

i can also confirm that the CA 33E and TM G3 series butt plates fit this AEG and actually go on a lot easier

I added just the G&G MSG90 stock to my G3/SG1 a few months back. (And i'm assuming it's the exact same stock on the FC51) But I use the butt plate from the TM G3 stock. It's much easier to open, closes with a positive lock and adds a little length.
