  1. strange i had that problem before the addition of the silicone ( which was why i added so much of it )

still perhaps i was doing something wrong in re-assembly!! more skilled hands than mine i guess!

    i have much to learn!

    kudo's to you anyway dude!!

  2. it could be a little brighter dude low key or not its no good when people cant see it!

all the same ! position of the lights is good

    and the loadout looks awesome

edit ...i should be a bit more constructive

low key mostly refers to the background and the use of shadows!

but a good shot of a lovely detailed subject like yours is no good as he is the same exaposure as the background and lacks any ''pop''

dont be afraid to crank up the light to make him stand out!

  3. This isn't really a proper review just yet chaps as I've only really owned the rifle 2 weeks and spent a lot of time simply just fondling it.

so ill go over with a few pointers before I gather the information I need for field performance.

Another reason is that I picked up mine on the classifieds and it has been downgraded to around 300fps

I was quoted 330 but shots at a coke can on .20g rounds fail to even penetrate one side of the can

ill keep an eye on this thread so go ahead and throw a Q&A at me

.the box is of a decent quality and well packed in thin moulded plastic, prefer polystyrene myself as it protects better but whatever

mine came with an sof bandolier, not sure if it was included originally but its nice enough, doesn't look incredibly durable!! its a bit like a thin sash with a few spaces in for mags.....the mags don't fit in incredibly well and im not sure id trust it

However I would look at grenade pouches or 40mm nade pouches as I think they may fit.

At some point im going to take a trip to my local surplus store and just stuff the mags into pouches that I think fit

Im really hoping that I will be able to fit a load in a 40mm grenade bandolier as this will be much sturdier and available in many camo types, anyone has any info on this feel free to let me know.

.weight and feel of the rifle are great, its actually lighter that I thought it would be, the wood in places has almost a hollow feel to it that lightens the weapon overall!

it dents and marks pretty easy, i kind of like that as it means i can leave it to wear naturally in the places that a real one might.

.The finish is pretty dark at first but tends to lighten around the area's that its used, most notably the grip

.there are mold lines on the steel parts in places, even around the cocking handle which kind of sucks but its not spoiling it for me.

.overall length of the weapon is good being not really much longer than my full stocked m4.....which i find acceptable to walk into a building with, it shoulders nicely

.the iron sights are the best iver ever used in all honestly, very clear and easy to get to, I find that whatever position i should it in or whatever way im standing, the sights just naturally line up even leaving a little room for peripheral vision.

    they are very adjustable

.Ive seen a lot of online videos where the mag release is pressed and the mag just falls out!  this is not so.....at least not on my version, the mags sit tight in there, they have to be pulled out, they can sometimes need you to get your nails in there.

this does prevent any accidents but it also means that fast mag change in the heat of battle are not easy, they take time.

.speaking of the mags, i hear a lot of complaints that the mags don't fill the full 48 rounds..............this is true, they will not feed the last 3 rounds like any other aeg mag.......im disappointed at this, i would expect this very specific type of weapon to have extended followers but i guess not :(

also the mags will only really hold about 22-26 rounds aside from the 3 that will not feed, i think 30 is a number you may be able to get away with, they are a little temper mental, and £15 for a mag that only has 48 rounds of which will only hold 30 odd is a lot of money,

im hoping they are brought out in bulk, but seeing as a lot of people will be using this rifle in a dmr capacity i guess this is forgiveable

I know that g&g makes mags with extended followers for its sig series so perhaps they will have this feature for their version of the m1 garand which is coming out shortly

.the takedown for this weapon is absolutely amazing, it has a few more steps than say an m4, but the weapon is put together in a way that is so smooth and painless

    let me better explain

my m4 is simple to takedown just 2 pins and slide it apart.........and yet its so rough, when putting it together sometimes it just doesn't go and you need to force it or try again, the g&g l85 was like that......fitting it together just was a bit of knack that had to be learned and it had bits in it that would break so easily if not done carefully!

the connector in the motor grip are such a tight fit that  any time you take it apart it you may break them, then the motor doesn't always line up with the gears which causes problems...

in the ics garand the parts fit together with such ease, the screws don't seem to crumble or cross thread as easily, you don't have to force anything or so carefully line up the edges before joining, the wires and motor are put together in such a way that they wont accidently break

    its just so pain free!!!

.fitting the battery in the stock is a pain though!!! it needs a b it of practice and you do have to bend the very stiff wires!!

dinner time, will update at a later time

  4. dear god in heaven heroshark that is the best thing ive seen in ages!!! im really into the idea of making masks for props and photos and randomn fun!!! it must be time consuming but is it exspensive!!

do you have any decent online resources??

  5. found an old pro-tec around the house and did it up!!! loved the way it turned out but i hate how huge it is on my head

anyone know a small helmet that doesnt have the styrofoam like liner but will still take a few blows!!

ive been looking at pro-tec ace wake helmets and the a-alpha half shells!!   im assuming the alphas are just cut up pro-tecs??

  6. trying to make a fictional loadout using alpenflage and giving a modern ish loadout impression

    helmet_zps2978b5a1.jpg

helmets mostly for show or mounting my go-pro

will stick some velcro on it.

what do you guys recommend for making it look awesome in the most cost effective way possibly! i was thinking light-sticks but they are a bit out of date these days what with e-lites etc

i was thinking of bolting some g36 rails on the sides

  7. aye they are selling alpenflage jackets across the road from me! so my team

loadout is going to be tan/alpenflage! in the summer when it gets hot ill dye something to match!

yep sponge method!! i was concerned! it doesnt really start to look decent till you add the third colour in!

  8. I know this is a little thread revival, but i wanted to update this thread with a little information about the rifle that i discovered over time

Okay so first of all ill talk about the peformance! one of the most dissapointing things i found with this was the motor, on an 8.4v battery i found that quite often id pull the trigger to find that instead of 1 shot on semi what i actually got was 2

or sometimes the trigger would just lock up altogether, the reason for this was the motor i guess just not being very strong in conjunction with the batter although this could be soved with a better motor or a lipo battery which a lot of people tell me that this gun is ready for!!

i was a little dissapointed with a stray shots from this rifle on .25g bb's

eventually when i looked at enougth reviews (epicairsofthd on youtube was very helpfull here) i discovered that g&g hop units were very well suited for higher weights of bb like .30g once using this ammo i found a huge improvement in accuracy, this heviar ammo in conjunction with a h-nub made such a huge difference i was almost shocked!

i found that a simple dental tape mod for tighter airseal and a h-nub installed with heavier ammo was giving me marui like accuary and hop performance!!

One thing i got annoyed at was the outer barrel, its a two piece design but the front sight assembly does not come free from the second part of the barrel!!

this means if your planning a change to a different handgaurd for example a madbull dd rail then you will need a new outer barrel assembly as well!!

mag compatability is great!!! ive been really banging my head against a wall recently with my other aeg's and mis feed issues and mag compatability and sourcing good mags etc

did not have this problem!! g&g mags along with jg marui fit fine for me as well as beta project p-mags though i did find with the p-mags a little tape helped the mag steady in the magwell and prevent mis-feeding......in fact it was kind of necessary!

all in all as far as field performance goes and potential for upgrades and compatability with other parts and mags etc this rifle has definately increased in value for money and upgrade potential!!

this gun is supposed to be aimed at beginners, but for someone who is a little more experianced and wants a good mainstay weapon for cheap.....this is definately worth considering!!

ive been constantly impressed with this!!

i sold the last one in favour of a different rifle but im seriously considering purchasing another two as loner guns!!

  9. after some looking through manuals and takedown vids it seems the g&g hop unit is exactly the same as used in all other g&g m4/m16 based products

even the top tech versions which i guess is why they are such good qaulity!

i agree with the part about the barrel! if feels like a cardboard tube!!

only the top tech g&g guns come with tightbore's as standard

i tried stripping mine down today and cross threaded the screws in the handgrip!! i dunno wether thats down to my crappy screwdriver or the screw qaulity anyone else had these problems!!??

  10. G&G CM16

    combat machine review

this was written on wordpad (so no spellcheck)

it is probrably full of spelling mistakes and bad grammar!!

    just a warning!!!

    Opening the box

I was greeted by a mailman with a pretty huge box....nice

the packaging was pretty simple no huge pictures or anything just a brown box with g&g combat machine written on it and a small monotone picture

pretty nice actually i much prefer that design to some of the brighter manufacture's boxes out there

it makes it seem a lot less like a cheap springer or a toy!

inside the box was a plastic divider with spaces for all the items, altogether there was the rifle a loading 450 rounds hi-cap and a bag of 1000 bb's

i was pretty impressed with the bb's and the fact that it was a decent size bag instead of one of those tiny little 30 round bags

but i was suprised to see no manual of any kind!!!!!

looking on thier website though there was a downloadable pdf with very simple instructions so i guess its not that much of a problem!!

however given that these guns are likely to be brought by first time players i would have thought a manual would be a good idea!!

    picking up the gun

the gun it self was nice looking the plastick was a dull tan colour and thankfully enougth it was a nice matte plastick!! i couldnt see any shiny parts!!

it was painted two tone which is a dissapointment but that is pretty much a requirement and it shouldnt reflect on this review

picking up the gun had a decent enougth heft and i was not dissapointed the gun didnt wobble which i was actually suprised at because my old tm m4 rattled and wobbled like a son of a *badgeress*!!

I even tried to flex and wobble it but it didnt give so i was pretty pleased!!!

i will say that a lot of this gun is plastick !! honestly im not fussed in this case!! the grip stock and handgaurd will always be plastic anyway so the only part that would usually be metal is the reciever!! although this is usually the part of the rifle that gets bashed about!!

    IMG_0271.jpg

    IMG_0275.jpg

the plastic on the reciever is firm however it is possible to squeez and bend it!! that was a little dissapointing however i cant tell you how easy it made it to dissasemble the gun

Inside is pretty nice..........everything just fits.....its neat and tidy and clean and well built! there are no bells and whistles but everything is just so nice

the reciever pins that hold the rifle are plastic which is a little shame as in my experiance the reciever around these pins and the pins themselves are very prone to breaking

however i had a set left from my old tm and i just slotted them in!! they shouldnt be to exspensive to buy if you want to do the same

    firing

the mag is fine easy to load and sits in the gun with little wobble which is about standard for a companys own mag

450 rounds is a very nice capacity for a hi-cap magazine

the 8.4v mini fits inside the grip with no complaints in fact it was esiar to get in than my tm was as inside the grip there is only a wire that fits inside instead of the whole plastic divider thats sits in place to hold the mag and the fuse etc!!

i like this a lot more

the ROF on the gun is nice im not sure what it is exactly but it seems on par with every other stock aeg ive ever fired! so nothing special.

i loaded .25 bb's in this for accuracy i fired the first few shots and they started falling of at around 25 meters.....dont worry i havent adjusted the hop yet!!

so i adjusted the hop......very stiff, i take this as a good thing as it means it wont move around on me later on

i took aim and fired again!! much better all of my shots flew out 30 metred and hit a plate sized target before beggining to curve outwards

unfortanetly 30 metres (approx) is as far as my garden goes before it hits the fence so im not quite sure how the rifle will fare after this! i did notice the shots seem to curve out a fair amount!! at some point i will see if using .20 bb's will improve the range

i will update this as time goes on and tell you how this fares on the skirmish field

    Conclusion

this rifle only cost me £99 new, thats pretty awesome, a well built rifle supplied with a decent mag for only £99

as a rifle thats designed for a begginer i cant really complain about this, i think using .20 ammo will reduce the accuracy somewhat but a lot of other reviews show that the gun can score hits easily at 40 meters which is pretty good.

If you want better performance you are going to have to upgrade it a little the power is fine but a better inner barrel will help groupings ....... i dont really think that another hop unit will make much of a difference but i will install one at somepoint and then get back to you on the results

i havent chronoed it yet but just about every review i have read states that the gun consistently chronoes at 330 fps which make it skirmish safe out of the box

i can imagine that in a cqb field this gun will really shine! you can stick a red dot on it or a few other choice bolt ons and it will work perfectly with no upgrades what-so-ever

.20's give it a decent range hitting a man size target at 40 meters

.25's give this gun pin point accuracy able to hit every shot at 30 meters on a head size target

  11. nice bolty dude!!

thanks i liked it both ways!! was esiar to wield with the m4 stock

but i wanna get rid of that wiring yp the fron and have a nice big battery!! felt it looked more sniper-ish with the m16 stock to :)
