  1. After my dremel arrived today I was finally able to give Sonja some new handguards. Bottom sits nice and flush but the top despite being sturdy is wonky, but frankly I do not want to mess with it more.  The MAG midcap is actually their quasi plum despite the poor lighting.  I would love to get my hands on either the LCT or Cyma plum mags though.

Sonja started out as part of two cyma/dboy kalashes I got many years ago, and has been made into a fixed wood stock for most of her life, had gearbox rebuilt multiple times (and failing just as much), and has so many random parts, including an Egyptian rear sight ladder.  After how effective my latest addition the ak105 has been I figured I would convert her back to folding stock and find some plum grips for her.  I hope my latest rebuilt of her gearbox has fixed her and I can actually use her at my next game, as I have reached the point where I want to buy a zci quick spring change gearbox and just be done with working on the current one.

  2. TBH I've seen folks in sweatclothes and hunting outfits play better than the fully kitted folks (and even the less kitted like myself).

If I could get out more than once a month maybe it'd help with my health, though tbh it usually does the opposite with my body sore and not functioning right just in time for the Monday workshift...

  3. So, I gave in and made a fake fb account to finally find the game hosts' page so I could find any photo evidence of me playing in the past year.  Warning, all of these have me looking goofy and with random kit on.

Pretty sure most of these won't be viewable due to the page owners having it set as a business page but we'll just have to see.  Thanks to Capital City Airsoft for the photos.

  4. Still want to get a carbine length kalash one of these days, even though I have too many kalashes as it is.  Should just find a front end somewhere for my old dboys.

Now that I think about it some more, pretty sure the pps type 3 stock would fit, but the cost of importing one would be a bit much just to try it, and getting another bizon seems a bit much.

  5. After drifting about last night looking at Bizon videos and what is still up on shops late last night, I had a stupid idea I had to do today.  There was a video of a fellow putting zenitco parts on a S&T branded Bizon type 2, and as I watched I thought "I have an ak74mn dboys gathering dust, and a cyma branded bizon in the closet, let's do something silly."

Had to use the pin from the original bizon stock in order to get it to sit properly for receiver cover to stay on properly.  Locks in but will unlatch itself with enough force, and naturally folding it is useless.  Still, gave me a bit of amusement, imagining what other folding stocks would like on it, like those folding rpk style ones.

Bit of a shame the pps type 3 version never got proper midcaps for them.  Watching vids of the top folding stock was fascinating, and they seem to be quite cheap even stateside, and some oversea shops even have kits for them.  Makes me ponder now if the stock would fit the longer type 2 models like mine, since as far as I can tell it doesn't rely on anything up top to retain it, but it most likely does in reality.
