  1. That does not help dispel my recent re-interest in getting one of those.  I remember using the Bizon all the time in every old shooter it was in, even if the situation did not warrant one.  It's a shame that out the recent ones (S&T and the plastic fantastic acm one rebranded by E1), they forgot the front sling attachment.

I suppose I just haven't really seen many pictures of it in use with specific setups from 1996 onwards, so since I am typically more towards the Soviet-Afghan War era in gear, I don't really have a reason to have one.  I suppose any of the splav vests with large pouches, or any vest designed for rpk magazines would work well.

    Dat magazine though...

  2. Never owned a MAC11 - now I want one.

Indeed (though for a different reason).

I take it the sight cannot be on with the stock folded?  Only thing I think could be added is some sort of goofy sight attached inwards from the bottom bit of the stock end.

Of course, this is a mac11 we are talking about.  Awesome work as always RC.

  3. Certainly, it isn't one of those "crossdraw" vests that so many have had when starting out, so I wouldn't be surprised that it lasts so long.  If all else fails, you could get a bolt or two of Flora fabric and wrap it in it.

Far from just action shots, I like seeing how folks staging areas and whatnot are like.  The writing on the wall seems to be more effective than most methods.  Not seeing any paint either, which is a welcoming sight.

  4. Perhaps a holiday gift several years from now, though that sumpftarn sumrack from BARS company undoubtedly be cheaper.

I just like oversuits for the most part, with my old set of "sun bunnies" being my go to set for most of the year.  I just need some sort of equivalent for when I need to be on the "tan" team locally.  I have so far been distant from modern gear for the most part, but with the local conditions it may be better to do so at some point or another.

RC, it took me about a minute to see the mask hole on the side, I was thinking you had gotten bit by something.  Keep up the pics, always brings a smile on.  That vest holding up okay?

  5. Meanwhile, I seem to always be adjusting my face cover in the majority of the few pics taken of me.  Wanted to take it off, but far too many shots to the face convinced me to deal with the hassle of it all day.

These two photos courtesy of Mosin of Team Rage, who hosted a game last Saturday that I attended.

This one is not as clear, but out of all the other ones so far I liked it, as it was a moment where I was following behind my newest acquaintance of the day, who I stuck with for most of the day when not off sneaking about.

If it is not clear already, I am the guy in the "pajamas".

  6. Renagade, I just realized that save for the gp-25 and the akms' grip, I could have matched your collection on the dot.  Even got the same rifle case.

Got a steel receiver and full stock today, along with an Egyptian rear sight leaf., transferred my aks-74's guts, front end, and other bits over.  Photos and me never mix well, so warning in advance.

  7. faramon, you just need to open up an airsoft field with a store (and bar) that is just staffed with such dapperness as you have shown.  That blows the water out of anything I have ever seen done locally.

On an off-topic note, why have I forgotten to keep with your blog?  So much win there.

  8. The issue with them is that they basically tried to take Chinese model externals like Real Sword's style, and make them appear Russian.  What I mean is that you have type 56 parts like the rear sight base being used for the ak74 models and whatnot, along with quite a few details that are off, yet they are being marketed as being fully realistic/exact replicas.

At least, that is the gist I get from previous discussions elsewhere.  If you want something that has the dimensions of a Real Sword but needs a bit of external work done to not look wonky, it's worth taking a look, maybe.  The svd is something some are waiting to see.

  9. I want to believe that is just placed close enough on the ground to look like it is attached, but is not.

Please RC, don't depress me more than most other airsoft pics I have seen lately.  We look to you to brighten our days.

Drake, is it a bit front heavy for you?  I've found that sometimes even a stock Kalashnikov can have its weight felt differently by others.

  10. The LCT NV series are somewhat more realistic, still some grub screws present, but built more like the vfc than tm.

A few of us on red alliance are seeing if LCT even sells them in kit form, asking a US-based shop about that. It might just be a special order kind of thing.

I was trying to get my hands on the RPK version, but a certain comrade has my attention towards a "project" svd.

  11. I once saw one real kobra sight on a dboys aks-74un model someone in my state had years ago, wish I had bought the gun off of him.

Would like to get a working aks-74u again, along with one of those rpk midcap mags. I've seen an ad by a local player for one of the echo 1 rpk hicaps, but not really sure how it would feed/look in any of my rifles.

As much as I would like to get another gun though, I have to be content with the three main rifles I have already. Unless I end up selling locally some unused parts of my collection, I don't see anything larger than a handgun anytime soon.
