  1. Actually that is a phantom flash hider. the troy one looks like a meat tenderizer

Strange thing, here. I have a Troy style and a Phantom style. Both have the meat tenderizer tips.

bored at work today, figured id take some proper pictures of my armalites:

If you don't mind me asking...where do you work?

BTW, the second picture is win.

  2. I like it. It'll eventually find it's home on an M4, but I can see it being used on just about any gun. (A Sig 552 came to mind as I was typing this. Don't know why.)

Build construction is pretty good. For $70 (or whatever it was, can't remember), it could have been a little better, but I'm not picky. I'm pretty well pleased by it. The uber-modular-ness of it makes up for that.

Finish on the metal is decent. It's a little rough on the edges, and there are seam lines on the plastic.

Overall, I'd give it a 7.5/10. Maybe an 8. Haven't used it on the field yet, so I'll update accordingly.

  3. "Why the 7.62 compensator?" Just tossed that on there. I have 4 flash-hiders/comps for this rifle, just tossed this one on for added bling, lol. For actual use, I'll most likely use the King Arms "Troy Medieval" style flash-hider.

"How about taking that folding foregrip and just have the VLTOR bi-pod on and also losing the magwell add-on?"

I'm really quite the fan of vertical grips. If I loose the folder (of which the main purpose of the folding mech, at least for me, is storage), I'll go for one of those "stubby" vertical grips. And about the magwell, sure, some do not like it's looks, but it's more about utility than looks.

I asked a actual EOD operator about the use of magwell expanders in combat, and I wish I had kept his exact reply, but I clearly remember him saying he wouldn't want to be without it. Granted, this is good and bad, because if you're ever without it, reloading will feel different, but for the utility factor, and because this is only airsoft, I'm going to keep it.

About the scope mount, which do you suggest?

And the front flip up sight, are you talking about just the sight, or the mount it's attached to?
