ok, basically what i want to know is, is the 3.9's frame identical in size to the regular?this is imparative to my Project...

 

 

I intend on getting a WE Tactical and a 3.9 and switching slides... once thats done ill have a Meu soc (to hold me off till the TM comes out) and a 1911A1 Compact Tactical.

 

 

and as for quality yes i understand TM ans WA are far superior. I just dont want to spend 50 dollar a mag for the WA, or deal with making a TM Franken-1911 from a 5.1 and 1911

The slide from my regular 1911 fits on my frame from the shorty type A.

I blended 3 we 1911's. A 3.9 "A" a 3.9"B" and a 4.3

 

The 4.3 has the full size frame.

 

The results:

 

Type A with the Type B hammer spring housing (and homemade wood grips)

 

 

Type B Frame w/ type A hammersring housing, 4.3 hammer, trigger, safety, backstrap and 4.3 slide

 

 

4.3 full frame with type B slide, hammer, beavertail, trigger, blah blah.

 

This frame need a bit ground off to accept the beavertail. It was the only "real" mod for the set.
