8tharmy
What kind of paint does airsoft manufactures use? i tried to repaint my guns with paints like krylon and tamiya but they came off like egg shells with a little scratch of nails... The original paints on my gun (Tanaka kar98) are very thin black layer. -Heinz
SN1P3R 808
I know what you mean about painting with other paint cans. I think these factory paints are baked on so it has a hard finish.
BigAl
Try using Duracoat or Alumahide.
hitchhiker
Aye, according to all the paint suppliers I know it looks as if most airsoft finishes are electrostatic powdering and baking. You can get kits to do it in your oven but only in the really basic colors and not (so far as I know) in a nice flat black. From what I've seen Duracoat is your best bet as long as you have a good spraying set up.
