Trasher
Anyone from the Sniping Haven regulars coming to Berget 6 ? I'm assigned to a mechanized QRF unit (FOX-2, NATO), so I'll carry the VSR in my Gunslinger as a "secondary". The ghillie stays home this time.
thunderhammer
At least a regular stalker reporting. I'll be at SRP Fox platoon, third squad. Brobaly carrying my semi-sniper m4 and keeping the m40 in MY gunslinger. Brobably gonna take the ghillie along too, for some night stalking, recon and guard duty.
conger
Trasher / thunderhammer .... Any reports about the event, how you found it and recommendations, thoughts and so on. Have been following the event's advertising and evolution since Berget 4 on the web but was unable to attend ..... However, Berget 7 will likely be my first ... so very interested in your experiences. Good Hunting
Trasher
This is kinda offtopic here. You can find reviews (including mine) at the official B6 forums. Three parts of the detailed hungarian review is available at softair.hu All in all it was a good event, I'm pretty sure about B7 next year. Not recommended for inexperienced, impatient, or physically unfit players.
Nihil_75
As most of the event reviews are really a bit off topic I have one that might fit here.. I was in India-1, NATO. Didn't play as sniper myself, but we encountered many 2 man sniper teams from Conard's merc's (the bad guys). These teams were made of one sniper, and one support gunner. Now, in berget you cant use highcaps and so the support weapons can lay down fierce suppressing fire compared to assault rifles. These teams proved very effective- the sniper took a few shots, got spotted and rushed. While the enemy got closer the gunner pinned them down and all the sniper had to do was pluck them one by one. really nice work.
Trasher
So basically it was a machine gunner using the sniper as a bait... Definitely not my idea of sniping.
Nihil_75
more like the opposite. Sniper baits, MG pins down, sniper tags.
Panzergraf
Never encountered anything like that myself (NATO, Oscar Coy), but it sounds like a really effective combination!
Nihil_75
It was nice, they used it mostly on those night raids on our base on day 2+3. We wanted to apply that in our local games but for some reason a person carrying a MG always has the same attitude "I'm gonna dig in and let the BB's flow, stealth be damned!!" so I kinda refuse to work with them... its not exactly my game style
