AnotherJesus
Kinda hard to find information on these guns. Hopefully some of you guys have experience or knowledge. So here goes. I was looking at the SP M40 thumb hole version. The upgrades available from PDI, seem to be based around the 2 types of XB variant. The thumb hole seems more recent than the XB v2. From my WGC search, it's further up the list, useually indicating it's been released more recently. Does anyone know what the hop up is like, and the trigger? http://www.x-fire.org/m40/e.xb_sear.html Will that trigger sear fit? It seemes designed for the new m40xb. If that wont, then I'd assume this will. http://www.x-fire.org/m40/e.xb_chamber.html As that's designed for the old M40s. The other thing, which of the cylinder head nozzle lenghts would I need? The longer, at 28mm or the shorter at 20mm. I'm assuming this is also something to do with the hop ups. So if I changed the cylinder to the other type than it starts with, could I use the pdi hop up? It's all very theoretical right now, I'm not bothered if no one knows. Any light you can shed would be apreciated though. Thanks.
angelmaker
IIRC the only difference between the old and new SP M40s is the new ones have a adjustable hop up while the old ones have a fixed hop up.
AnotherJesus
I've read a fair few writing on this since posting the thread. You're roughly right, although the triggers appear to be different as well. The older trigger sears can be replaced with some cut sheet steel though, so that's fine. Trigger is no longer a worry. I'm just curious as to whether it's based on the newer version M40XB or the older models. It was apparently their last release, but none of the Internet specs list hop up or improved chamber like they do for the new type XB.
