[BS]_MARS
So I was just browsing youtube and found this dude and his "recoil generator" system. It seems that he's got a "cylindrical generator" in the guns judging by the comments. Anyone know anything about this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g350rlKFBhU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVSvCfD0iek...feature=related
renegadecow
A quick search yields that "cylindrical generators" pertain to devices that use combustion and photovoltaic cells to harness/generate electrical energy as an alternative energy source. I highly doubt its that since the guy says it runs on batteries alone. Judging by the buzzing sound after each shot (and is definitely not from the gearbox since the L96 also has it) I'm guessing its a compressor on a dump valve with a weighted piston. Air is pre-compressed after each shot (buzzing sound). Trigger is pulled and the valve is opened resulting with large decompression hence the loud "pop" sound (like an airgun really). The vented gass propel a piston which slams rearwards and gives you perceived recoil.
