Cosmitz
Having just received my Warrior TMV today, after trying it on and tightening all that i could on the vest, i still can't get a good tight fit. It's almost as loose as my old CIRAS just that without the 'plates' supporting it. It seems that i have to use the same mod i did on the CIRAS and use keyrings looped through to the molle from both sides... but i don't want to make it look butt-ugly. So i'm asking for advices on "tactical" (lol) D-style carabiners, in tan, which can withstand holding the vest together and be reasonably 'gucci' . Depending on size, i can use either 'small' ones 2.5-3cm or long, 6.5-7.5cm, ones. European/UK-only shop-links suggestions please.
Punkypink
How about the Maxpedition Grimloc Carabiners? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Maxpedition-Grimloc-...3d628b6facb4f7a
Cosmitz
Hm, i think i might run the risk of accidentally 'opening' them while running or by having the pouches around hitting then on the release, since they'll be planted sideways. >.>
Punkypink
No, put them on as intended, on the molle loop right at the side, with the release button facing downwards. You can hook your other molle loop through the section that opens up. Like this:
Cosmitz
You're quite right. O.o Guess i'm just a bit slow today. Ok then, guess that covers it. Thanks.
Punkypink
They should also go nicely with the tactical look of your Warrior vest too
crackisbad
Alternatively, you can cut off/tape away your existing female buckles and use these: Fastex Repair Buckles Take the female of those and weave it on one of the MOLLE straps so that you can close the gap EDIT: or these: Fastex Surface mounts
Cosmitz
I'd rather not do permanent work on the vest, plus, i'm trying to eliminate slack as much as possible. With the Grimloc i can also tighten it even more if needed. Thanks for suggestion all the same.
crackisbad
The nice thing about the repair buckles is that you wouldn't have to do any permanent work. your existing female buckle could be taped towards the inside of the vest out of the way, and you could mount the repair female buckle on a MOLLE strip (no cutting/sewing required); it just weaves in and you could use your existing male side and that, I think, would be much more secure than Grimlocks.
