Yuo can't hammer them out because there's two inline separated in the middle by the electrical plate. No way I can get ahold of them with a set of needlenose pliers. And they don't seem to screw out. The whole area is heavily corroded on mine and I need to disassemble it to clean up the wiring - creating massive amounts of resistance. But I'm stuck and getting this hinge plate off. Help! Basic-Wedge Posted September 23, 2011 Report Share Posted September 23, 2011 I had corrosion problems with my VFC SCAR too. I didn't find it necessary, however, to disassemble the hinge, rather I simply sprayed contact cleaner on the contacts and swiveled the hinge back and forth until I had a good connection.
