Some of my friends and I were thinking about modifying an M4A1 (haven't decided what company yet) into a Shrike LMG (see attached). As far as parts, we're good to go--we should have enough money soon. Here's what we're going to use: M249 (Minimi) Box Magazine w/ Dummy Ammunition($100) M249 (Railed) Tray Cover ($100) Concept SPR Short Handguard ($150)link M16 Series Detachable Rear Sight ($25) Tactical Modular Flip-Up Front Sight w/ Sling Swivel ($50) RIS Vertical Foregrip ($25) Total: $450 We know it is possible for this configuration to work (several other people have done it, but have not explained how), but we have no idea what we have to do to make it work.
