For about 2 months now The toolbar on my desttop has been gone. I have been too lazy to do anything about it, but instead of calling a computer tech guy I thought I would ask you guys, How do i get the tool bar back? oikoik Posted July 22, 2005 Report Share Posted July 22, 2005 um, drag it back up? the start bar, can be dragged down to only the tiny tip of it can be seen on the edge of the screen. otherwise, its called up in the same program [ish] as explorer.exe, which as you know is launched by default anyway.. no other reason for it to disappear though.. The Elf Posted July 22, 2005 Report Share Posted July 22, 2005 sometimes you can get it to go down, and when you put your mouse near it up and it will pop up. (you do mean the start bar, when u say toolbar?) If you actually mean toolbar, right clikc on the start menu, and there will be a list of tool bars u can have, and clikc on them, and they will appear. Link to post Share on other sites
oikoik Posted July 22, 2005 Report Share Posted July 22, 2005 bring up your windows task manager, go to processes. can you tell me how many exporer.exe's are running? select it, end process tree. your windows may go wonky .. then go file, new task [run..] and type in explorer.exe tell me what happens .. one wonders if it s registry thing going on if the above failed to restart the taskbar, go here: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm Link to post Share on other sites

Wolf Raptor Posted July 22, 2005 Report Share Posted July 22, 2005 Press the Windows Icon key which is situated between the Ctrl and the Alt keys at the bottom of the keyboard. (near space bar) this will automatically raise the Start bar and you can see where its hiding! Link to post Share on other sites
