nmcabecadas
Components that come from a operating firearm are illegal. If the part is required to operate the gun, is also illegal to have.
FUmiYAsu
well the buffer tube is illegal then as it houses the buffer spring but the stock is not involved in the actual firing mechanism.(the gun will still work if the stock is taken down) It's supposed to be new from a shop so it's never been on a real firearm before.. any ideas abt the stock...or is it still illegal? Ubar
if its never been on a firearm its legal to use, however it may be a good idea to get some written proof of its history incase you are questioned about it
Hissing_Sid
Buy yourself a gun-mart and have a look through it. It seems that there is a massive industry involved in knocking out non-firing weapons from real-steel factories. I forget the URL but there's an official Armalite supplier in the UK who sells sliding stocks. They usually have a big ad in gun-mart. Any part from a firearm which has a serial number is, obviously, traceable but something like a stock-tube/buffer tube doesn't have a serial number so I doubt that it's an issue whether it's a real-steel part or not. The dodgy bit of UK law is that it's illegal to reactivate a deactivated firearm. If the stock you buy is brand-new then it's never been on a real gun anyway, even if it's for one. It's just spent it's life sitting in a shop window. Legally, you'd be on much thinner ice if you decided, for example, to buy a de-act AK47 and bung AEG internals in it.
