pretenda
Hello all. First im in NZ so i need to have semi and cant have auto before ppl say auto is better any way. I have a JG Aug and it has an interesting issue, dry firing with no mag in the gun will shoot semi only no problems. dry firing with mag in the gun will shoot semi only no problems Firing with the mag in and wound the gun shoots first shot semi and then is auto after that. Begin semied it has no auto contact plates so it must have something to do with the disconnecter but i am having trouble figuring out how that relates to bb's in the hop unit. Any help or suggestions appericated. Thanks
Punkypink
No disrespect , just to be sure to make it easier to diagnose the problem, you're not holding down on the trigger after you've pulled it once right?
pretenda
if i pull it at the same speed as i do with no mag it gives me a burst of 3-4 i can pull it short enough when a loaded mag in to get any less then 2 rnds.
EmptyChambers
Its a common problem with the JG AUGs for some reason. Anyways, whats happening is that the electrical contact that the trigger pushes forward has slipped off the return spring. Because its not being held with any resistant, a slight pull does nothing but push the part upwards. Only with a pull trigger pull do you have enough contact between the trigger and the little plastic part to push it all the way forward as you need. The hook that the spring attaches to wears down on the JGs, in part due to their materials. You can resettle the parts, but it will happen again eventually. If this is in anyway unclear, tell me so. I have to redo mine as well for the second time, and can take pictures when I do so.
Punkypink
Hmm Well I had an issue once where I stripped it out and when I reassembled it, it would only fire on semi. Then after a couple of bangs auto suddenly returned.
pretenda
so is it then sitting foward of the cut off lever?
Punkypink
Ok so without the mag in, if you pull the trigger half way, it fires a shot on semi, if you pull it further back, it does full auto?
pretenda
no. if i pull the trigger full pull and hold with no mag it is semi, same style pull with mag but no bb's and still semi, only the introduction of bb's that makes it auto.
Punkypink
Is it because your aug's been customised to fire semi only? Pardon my ignorance about NZ airsoft regs but I'm not sure if your gun is completely stock like mine or been modified to be within your local regs. My AUG fires semi on half trigger pull and full auto on full pull. So with my mag in, half pull is still semi, full pull is still auto. It's the way the fire selector is on the real steel AUG. pretenda
yeah the semi side of this is due to local laws, full auto is illigal here. so it has to be semi and not at all auto. it isnt stock. i got some upgrade parts coming so i guess when they get here ill open it up and get it going. till then it will sit in the cupboard, cant take it to the feild
Punkypink
Righto Anyways may I direct you to this thread? I have an inkling of what the problem might be, but it is beyond my expertise to be sure of my diagnosis. Steyr AUG FAQ & Helpdesk
EmptyChambers
If you only want semi, you can always just stick some electrical tape on the back of the contacts outside the gearbox. It'll keep you from completing the required circuit for full auto.
The_AUGfather
To permanently disable AUTOmatic (regardless of trigger pull), you should eliminate the electrical circuit that allows AUTO. The gearbox is set up without a selector-plate, but rather has a set of two "switches". When the trigger is lightly pulled, SEMI engages inside the gearbox. When the trigger is pulled hard, the trigger-contacts continue a parallel circuit to the AUTO switch, continuing the circuit even after your 1st shot. Clip either of the wires shown in this picture. Red or black, doesnt matter, as long as the AUTO circuit is disabled, you will not have SEMI anymore!
pretenda
i will get some fotos up when i can, lol im on a course atm. basically my real issu is that i have no Auto circuit all redy the auto contacts have been removed fully.
