Wow 'hippy, really?

Yeah yeah yeah, you don't care about my private life, I know, I know.   However in the abscence of any kind of diary in my life besides the calendar on my phone (which I increasingly live by but very much doubt will still own 2 years from now ) I will record now that on this, Saturday the Fourth of November 2006, that I went out last night (the night of Friday 3rd Nov. [no sh** Sherlock? ] ) to the house where our labourer and storage yard operator (a Chinese guy called Billy [an assumed na

Oh, memory lane... (and a cautionary tale)

Thanks to Hardcore Mitsuko's blog entry on talent I am reminded of a similar feeling, and a little story all of my own to tell; Settle down kids, and gather round the fire with uncle Evil ....   "'Twas a dark and stormy night, and..." Bullsh*t alert, no, that's not right. Nope it's not that melodramatic, but it is quite sad (I think so anyway) - I used to draw all the time, I was well known for it; in the social circles I moved in when I was 16 to 20 or thereabouts (and there were quite a f

I'm so happeee! Oh so happeee! *murders bunny*

On the plus side: I now have a Classic Army M249. Also on the plus side I got Dog Soldiers last night and watched that again, rather a good film and I always do like Sean Pertwee's sarcastic and amusingly vulgar roles.   On the down side, I broke my 3-day abstainance from booze to celebrate the arrival of the Minimi, and ended up with a head full of swirly C2H6OH brain-stabbing vengeance upon waking this morning.   Hangovers do not a happy worker bunny make; send in the poachers and take t

Grand Theft Auto: Hampshire

Well, it certainly would provide me some good few hours of entertainment; marching through West Quay shopping centre blowing up all the virtual `Claire's Accesories`-style boutiques, wasting hundreds of digitally recreated So'ton chavs, and finally obliterating that goddamned misery-peddling McDonalds on the top floor.   Not ever going to happen, sadly, yet despite this apparent rage towards humanity I would only ever take pleasure in doing it `pretend`; in a simulated computer generated env

Living the dream.

A thought ocurred to me in Holland, and it was a good time for random trails of thought and inspired tangents in the line of thinking, but the thought that most stuck out was that I actually am going to acheive one of my dreams.   There is a saying, by someone cynical, that there are 2 problems with living your dreams; one is that you don't get to do it, and the other is that you do.   I will meditate on this when I've acheived this little one, and see what I think of this particular philo

In the spirit of short posts...

Realising that no-one wants to trawl through an essay of my ranting - even those of you who secretly love me or something - I'm gonna try and put a few short posts in betwen the rants.   I can tell you all care so much   So; a thought from my desk, and a totally shameless plug   I just completed the content update for our most important page on the website. So there The site is here, my lovely company (not actually mine yet. Yet....)   Its been a bit of a mission, and taken about

Swearing. Big and clever: official!

I'm putting this under `alcoholism` because I've had a few ..... You might be able to tell   The point I am (digressively) trying to make is; swearing is big, and it is clever. Go on, try it; swear a bit. Doesn't it make you feel mature, in some strange, esoteric way? 'Course it does. You wouldn't know those words if you were only 4 years old now, would you? That is the very definition of esoteric, and the very reason that swearing is both prized and feared by our youth.   Precisely.

Sold now't, Kimber inbound!

A blatant excuse to half-inch Havoc's entry title o' course (and where the hell are the rest of 'em, eh?? ) and just because I know nothing about Kimbers other than the distinctive look of the wider slide hatchings, and of course that lovely calligraphilicious logo doesn't mean I can't harp on about how nice its gonna be to have one.   I think I may have actually done this little shindig before, but hey, I'm prepared to go through it all again   Because the thing it will most importa

A Fist Full of Hollers

The satisfaction at watching your latest victim wince and recoil in pain, the exquisite pleasure as the hapless unfortunates line up with pride in their hearts, only to fall in agony before your merciless attacks, mmmmm….. There is a delicious satisfaction simply listening to the screams and hollers from those who have been blistered and stung by your own hand, their weltered faces and limping frames testament to your domination…..   Evilhippy hasn’t gone to the dark side – I got there year

Hippiecrites

Went out to a `rave` (messy, debauched underground-style mashup, for those that don't quite know) at Londons swanky SE1 nightclub on Friday, totally on a whim and a late and random invitation; it turned out to be pretty much identical to a festival but indoors - under a railway bridge in Lambeth in fact - in a cavernous series of rooms in the dank and seedy underbelly of UK nightlife ( i.e. the best part).   Turns out it was run by and for ......   peace-lovers advocating hate ( ) busy ma

An evening with Evil Hippy

`It was just a day like any other, no-one expected it to turn out like this... `   Actually, it really was just another generic evening of mindless drinking and smoking, so I decided to make an event of it, with what little resources I had, namely;   Me My mate Matt 16 beers (yo ho ho) A quantity of a rather controversial relaxant Guns, lots of guns 1/4 bottle of V.S.O.P. Champagne Cognac Fresh fillet steak Camera phone Egg Ammo, & Nothing better to do.   .

Broken guns, healed heart.

Yeah yeah, valentines - schmalentines. I'm going for a beer ......     Now about the whole idea of lending guns out to people, right? Well you know the kind of people that you would trust with them, and the kind of people that you wouldn't. So to say that I was apprehensive about my birthday skirmish the day before yesterday would be putting it mildly ....   There were people I did trust (Jason, The Other Tim, Dave (Shard) and Dan (well, mostly, He's hyperactive by nature but we never act

Life and Death

Here's one to think about: imagine if the stories about your whole life flashing before your eyes before you die can be taken as `true`, broadly speaking. The most esteemed Mr. Terry Pratchett has used this as an excuse for a joke given, as his best lines often are, to his own favourite anthropomorphic personification - Death - in the form of the lines (between Death and a very-recently-deceased person. Hint: Death's lines are the ones in capitals );   `Isn't my life supposed to pass in fro

Blind Faith

I’m wasn’t sure how sure I should be of this, but in the spirit of brotherly sharing, goodwill, trust and general niceness I’ve lent a few guns out to some newbie skirmishers. But I’m not going myself…..?   I guess this happens when you take people along and they get bitten by the Bug, now they wanna go practically every day and of course they don’t have their own guns yet. I could see it coming, really, and I guess this is just the bit where I undergo a little test of my faith in these guys;

the Evils of Insurance

My brother perfectly illustrated the stupidity and wastefulness of the insurance industry to me last night - I had hitherto not really thought about it as I don't have anything insured to speak of. Not yet, anyway.   Car insurance policies are based on the value of the car and, in the event of an accident, come in to play in relation to the cost of repair. If the cost of repair after an accident exceeds only 2 thirds of the car's re-sale value, then the car will be basically destroyed - from

Yeah I'm a bad man, OK?

I have found the secret to dealing with those post-binge scruples: the scruples that make you feel guilty during your hangover.   They’ve actually dominated my thoughts for the past 60 hours and I can’t tell you how much of a relief it was to have my good (and blessedly continual) friend Chupp call me up and say he isn’t upset with me. I was convinced that I had irreperably insulted him, or otherly upset the dude sufficient to the point that he wasn’t speaking to me – as it turns out the 3 tim

Airsoft Site: The Duel

In a grand attempt to break from the insular course of action that has lead our skirmish group thus far to visit only the esteemed Ground Zero near Ringwood, Hampshire, we have bravely opted to patronise 2 entirely new sites, both of which actually being closer to all of us, in fact, than GZ is......   We are breaking the mould! - But in a sideways kinda direction instead of just foolishly galumphing forwards like some poorly prepared fools   Despite our actual conservation of effort (i.e.

Toyz in tha Hood

I remember playing a Megadrive game called Dynamite headdy, and one of the levels (being based on toys and suchlike) went by the same name as this post. Memorabilia In Memoriam Memorandum (more emphasis on the random), eh? Ahhh...   Anyway: I seem to have acheived another simple, short term goal in that I will soon have my grubby mitts on a Thompson M1A1, a Tanaka Browning Hi-Power (in a fetching shade of silver, no less), another Tanaka in the form of an SAA detachable cylinder in 4.75" flavo

The Lowdown: Marushin's Folly?

I typed about half of this as a reply in a PM to questions about the different available Marushin Derringers, but it seemed useful enough for everyone so here it is (adjusted and blogified to be more betterer, like )   I would have got back to the guy yesterday; I had the reply typed out, twice in fact, then had a power failure both times before I finished - damned parents using their dodgy old chainsaw and hedgetrimmer at the same time. Silly, silly 'rents... Right -   The difference b

Assault & Battery II

Woah - Arnies bloggers seem to be breeding or something (an idea I take umbrage with seeing as I ain't getting any action from it ) as bo0mer (what? Changed his name? Oh, right ) Sorry, Belladonna has joined the bloglist, as has the Mighty Moderating Powerhungry Ranger that is R22Master. Welcome, gentlemen, welcome indeed   Hmm. Less than 24 hours until I have a Tanaka M700 AICS in my inevitably sweaty fisties. MMMMmmm-MMmmm yessirey, thats gonna make me into one big-*albartroth* real-life

Tanaka Redeemed - M700 A.I.C.S. FTW dudes...

Good things come to those who wait, and I've waited long enough. I figured a good thing or two was on the cards and my prayers have been answered (thanks, Satan) and the M700 AICS was finally re-released by Tanaka. Thank *fruitcage*. Now I don't have to buy an APS2 Type96 bloody spring rifle and throw another £250 at it just to make it almost as good as this   Incidentally, I'm actually writing most of this up from an internet cafe for which I am paying by the hour just to bring you the wonde

So that little VCR Bill-thing doesn't matter then?

Big news of the day (well, year) is, of course, that we have an exception from the Violent Crime Reduction Bill - that is, subject to conditions as yet undisclosed we will retain the right to own our airsoft guns, protected by law, safe and secure. How pleased are we?   WOOHOOOOO!!!!     I'm leaving the debate to brew and boil regarding the details and the almost inevitable conditions that will be forced upon us, and I need to go out and celebrate my newfound freedoms alongside (and indee

Obsessive Compulsive Order(ing).

Jesus tapdancing Christ I spent a lot last week. Now not included within this is my new skirmish rifle: I have a new AEG in the STAR SL-8, and man, I love it. Its taken the pride of place that the AICS up until recently had occupied, although being totally differenty systems I can still find places in my battered, shadowy heart for them both   But as to the spendyness, well since Friday last I have purchased (all online):   MARPAT trousers, & shirt, & bandana Guarder pistol lanya

The Special Relative theory of Airsoft.

Or, to quote the title in full; The Special Relative Philosophy of Airsofting Incompetence.   Another Monday, another set of aching pins, and another day of skirmishing that would in the eyes of bean-counters, excitable children (of all ages ) and uber-competitive players everywhere be labelled as `Unsuccesful`- in the same way a disappointing experiment in one's Diabolical Monster Lair might have produced yet another 8-armed octo-monkey that disintegrated upon first contact with bananas - a

Hitman Movie Will Rock..?

A good very friend of mine sent me this email this morning, I reckon he's got the nail right on the head -       "Not only has the HITMAN film been approved, it no longer has Vin Diesel!   http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/05/deadwood...n-hitman-movie/   I will be happy if:   1) They don't just base it around the 'hit gone wrong, mole in the agency, all other hitmen been found and killed by over zealous (and of course in fact a 'bad guy' cop) and Agent 47 brings them all down` formul
