There must be an easier way....

Today was time to fit some new parts to my M16 carbine. Now i'm trying to get the sucker to take an SA80 sling, which meant buying two new side mounted sling adapters. £20 well spent....

In the past i've been a bit over ambitious with gun-modding, but these seemed simple enough jobs. The rear sling loop went on fine. But the front one, damn. Trying to hit out pins, with sod all proper tools was fun. "Fun" in a kind of "how am i going to hide the dents in the dinner table from my parents?" kind of way.

On my way over to arnies i spotted something interesting on the yahoo homepage. Stephen Hawkings, author of "A Short History of Time," university lecturer and one time Simpsons character was quoted as saying that he can see "no way that the human race can last another 100 years." Nice.

Apparently the human race is basically up the famous creek, sans paddle, because of social, economic and enviromental problems. I switched off here. But i'd like to think he said : "run for the hills, the dead will walk among us." Which is slightly more exciting smile.gif

Which begs the question "what on earth would you do?" Really. Zombies rise up from the dead tomorrow, what the hell would you do? Answers on a postcard to the usual address....

I like to think that i'd do something... but without asking on Arnies first for advice, or checking that Team SNAFU walk to their death with matching loadouts, i'd say the odds are against me.

LJ out.
