Tanaka Super Red Hawk
Finished up a clients gun tonight. Den order showed up, a little for me and the last few parts to finish up the Evike 1911. I personally have never had a problem ordering from Evike, but man their technical services are bottom of the barrel right now. I can't imagine that they have looked at this gun three time now, and it still shot like sheit when it came to me. Be careful who you have work on your gun. If it had been my gun I would have raised hell. Now it shoots pretty good. Not as good as a well built PGC bodied gun, but the Guarder bodies are not as terrible as I always think they are.
I also got one of my new Tanakas. Order a Ruger Super Red Hawk .454 Casul, but received a .44 Magnum. Actually worked out well for me since the .454 has gotten fairly terrible reviews, but the .44 Magnum has gotten better reviews.
On top of that it shot this:
Since I can't leave anything alone, I also sourced a set of RS grips. Since the stock ones were the rosewood I opted for the Ebony insert panels. They fit much tighter than the stock ones, but I did have to remove the safety. The grips (both stock and rs) are surprisingly thin and comfortable. Nice gun, decently accurate, but shoots below the point of aim. With a ridiculous amount of hop and the rear sight raised almost off the frame, almost right on point.
Last Den order is schedule to arrive tomorrow. Pretty excited, since it includes two guns for me and the final bits for another client's build. I like the building, but the waiting for parts gets a little tedious.
