Stupid Day

Stealthbomber

Today is a special day.

Amongt the landslide of sh*te that makes up the thankless task of moderating an internet forum it's often difficult to tell the very bad from the absolutely awful.

Today, however, through the concentrated efforts of a number of induhviduals, manages to stant head and shoulders above the usual pit of dross and, thus, May 8th will forever more be known as Stupid Day, in honour of those that gave so many of their remaining brain cells to make the rest of us laugh.

We salute you!

In other, unrelated (thank god) news, summer is here and I think I can genuinely look forward to a skirmish at the weekend without thinking of frozen car windows, muddy fields, muddy boots, muddy clothes and, well, you get the idea.

Summer folks! Bring it!

I have a couple of airsoft projects ongoing at the moment however this is a time of peace in the Stealthbomber armoury. Averything is working as it should do (except the M60 but it's kinda traditional for that to be in bits. Sorta like the american fascination with buying a car and then stripping it apart on your front lawn) so I really don't have much to talk about.

After 2 years of filling the space at the bottom of my wardrobe (next to the betamax video and minidisk player, behind the BSB dish) my G&G L85 has attended the last 3 skirmishes with me and aquitted itself marvellously.

The only thing that bugs me about it is that the ROF seems a bit mundane. In fact, upon testing, the ROF is a bit above average. It's around 800rpm. It's just that it makes a sort of "Shlunk...Shlunk...Shlunk..." noise when it fires whereas most guns sort of go "ZzzPOP...ZzzPOP...ZzzPOP..."

I guess it's just too quiet and smooth for its own good. I bet G&G didn't TRY to make it that way. If they did they would've f**ked it up.

I've inherited a bunch of VSR bits with an eye to fitting them to my L96 but, frankly, the L96 is shooting pretty well at the moment (after one of those "Eureka" moments that actually started off as one of those "Goddam! I'm gonna sort this bloody thing out once and for all, even if it kills it!" moments) so I'm loathe to pull it all to bits and potentially mess it up even if, in the end, it makes it better.

In other news, I bought a set of new shock absorbers and springs for my BMW ages ago. I knew I'd probably have to fit them before it got MOTd so, with the MOT looming, I need to break out the spanners and axle stands and see what sort of a mess I can make of that job.

The plan is actually to get stuck into this later today so if I'm in a bad mood on the forums later on you'll know why.
