Still here in Cincinnati OH.
I visited TargetWorld, one of the local shooting ranges and gunshops, but wasn't able to use the range.
It seems it is possible for non-US citizens to rent and shoot at ranges, but only if you go with a US Citizen (or legal resident with a hunting permit - at least, that was the story from TargetWorld here in Cincinnati), which was a shame, but just looking around their store was interesting - Tanaka's S&W 500 is stunningly realistic, but the real H&K Mk23 has a surprisingly shiny, black slide, quite like the KSC ABS version, in fact, as was the frame.
They had an array of S&W 500s (8", 3" AND PC Hunter and one engraved versions), Taurus Raging Bulls, Desert Eagles (two in gold!), H&Ks (You name it, they had it), Rugers, Glocks and SIGs. There were many, many S&W revolvers, but not that many 1911 derivatives (A few POs, a few Ed Browns) and Berettas (a few of the 92 and Cougar ranges, though). To be honest, I suspect if you could think of a handgun, currently in production, there was at least one there...
Also got to spend a day's skiing at Perfect North Slopes yesterday, which was surprisingly good for a 'bump' in Indiana.
You wouldn't take a trip to the area JUST to ski here, but if you're in Indianapolis, Cincinnati or the environs and have a day to spare, then you'll not find much else as much fun.
Food is proving fun. Americans LOVE huge portions. I had a Burrito Saturday, from a fast food outlet (Burrito Joe's) - It was $7 with a drink and 'chips' (Tortilla Chips to the Brits) and it was so huge I didn't eat anything else all day!!!!
Cheers.
