Where'd you get the frame? The texture looks great!

It's stippled with a X shaped wood burner head or similar device.

That's correct, but before stippling, some material like finger grooves are dremel'd away for lower profile.

 

......and filed again after stippling to get rid of sharp edges produced by wood burner, making the texture easier on bare hands
