  1. My CA M15A4 Carbine, which only has one original part left in it, which is the outer barrel, what I love about it is that in 2 mins I can change it from this: To this: Awesome fun, it's like having two different guns!
  2. Are guns that have been cobbled together from parts of various different models ok here? Cuz I have an AK (nearly finished) that is no real AK ever made, and has my self-made Mahogany handgrips (yum) It's a shorty with a full stock and an ingenious red-dot mount.
  3. Well judging from the responses to this thread I think that the locked posts that I saw were the exception, rather than the rule, so sorry for jumping the gun on that one, and yeah, I did wonder about the sniper forum! Not wanting to drag this out too much, but couldn't there be some kind of disclaimer that all members have to acknowledge, saying that advice on upgrading over 1J is allowed, but that the forum is in no way responsible for an individual's choices, and that if they upgrade over their national limit then it's their lookout because the forum did not condone anything, but was m
  4. There's one on page 2 of tech discussion where a guy is asking about motors for his already upgraded over 1J rifle, and the thread was locked before anyone had the chance to address his ROF question, perhaps the rules have changed, but I thought it was upgrading over 1J that we couldn't instruct someone how to do, but that we could discuss any other aspect of an upgraded gun, like the ROF. Not accusing a conspiracy, I'm just saying that some people may be jittery since the new law, or perhaps more resentful than usual towards our non-UK members. It's just something that I've found a
  5. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but... I've noticed over the past month or two that the mods seem to have gone nuts for locking posts where someone so much as mentions a +1J gun, I have read the site rules, so I understand why over 1J discussion isn't allowed (although I totally disagree) but why on earth can't the mods just continue what they used to do pre-VCRA, which was post in the topic to inform the OP, and give him the chance to edit his post to within forum limits? If they refuse to edit the post then I can totally understand locking them, but for f**k's sak
  6. I did mention it: "Turning the sight off is accomplished by fitting a black plastic cover (included) over the main body of the sight, this causes the sensor to detect no light, and switch off, it al protects the sight whilst in transit." It isn't a significant flaw at all, you just put the cover on it when it isn't in use, after a few seconds of darkness the sight switches itself off, which is why I've had it more than a couple of weeks, and the battery is still going strong.
  7. I haven't got any pics at the moment, but I'm using it on a CA M15A4, on top of a Bushnell 2-6x scope with rails built in, I'll post a pic or two when I get a bit more time.
  8. This is a review of the KA Reflex Sight, bought from Fire-Support for £45+£5p+p Link Below. http://www.fire-support.co.uk/store/comers...?idProduct=1782 It is a loose replica of the Docter Sight http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures...l?id=2102616449 First things first, it's small I mean really small, 2 inches long and 1 inch high! This is a mixed blessing, and I'll come back to it later. The basic operation is the same as any other Eotech style sight: 1] Look into lens. 2] Dot is visible. 3] Place dot on target. 4] Shoot. Red dot sights are known
  9. You referring to mine Magsz? I've put 'track' pattern rail covers on the top and bottom to bulk it up a bit, I noticed that it kinda looked like some sort of futuristic gun with the rail covers and minus my silencer, I was gonna put a GL on it, but I think it'd be too heavy for one thing, and it wouldn't look right. I'm most happy with the scope though, it really sets off the whole look of the gun.
  10. My thoroughly butchered M15A4 Carbine, with numerous internal upgrades and a fair few external ones too. Stock Opened Stock Folded
  11. Fair enough, I'm an engineer by trade, so I guess I just see it as there's nothing I can't fix anyway, so I'll just start with whatever and make it work myself. Incidentally, I've just got an AKMSU from SRC, it's not too bad, although the plastic handguards are loose, but it shoots well (with 1J) and the rest of it looks good, it's very much an upgraders gun though, you start with a cheap metal body and some decent parts, change the ###### parts, and you've got a bloody awesome gun for a fairly low price, that's the appeal for me, it lets me pick and choose any part I like, and I don't spend
  12. Comparison is fine, healthy even, but what you were doing was not comparison, it was "my gun is better than your gun, OMG I can't believe you didn't buy the same gun as me, you bought a different one and it's rubbish, hahahah I win" Comparison draws attention to the similarities and differences between two similar items (or anything really) to find which is "better", but it also takes into account the differing purposes/markets it's aimed at, therefore a Guarder kit requiring a TM AK as well and costing $900 (don't nitpick about price, it's roughly correct) is aimed at a different market tha
  13. Actually he didn't use excessive profanity, I would have, given the nature of the conversation, but to his credit, he didn't. As for "victory" yeah well you were right, so what? There's no point gloating over the internet, as it's almost anonymous, so no-one cares.
  14. Yeah, that was the idea! I wanted something that looked a little different from the average M4-with-lots-of-stuff-on-it, and I've got no use for a RIS mounted waffle-iron (quote stolen from someone) and as the red-dot wouldn't let me use iron sights, I thought I may as well remove them.
