  1. 1) I don't remember exactly, but it ends about 2-3" before the outer barrel. 2) The front sight is just a random piece of plastic that is screwed/epoxied onto the outer barrel. The outer barrel is a chunk of 1" pvc pipe with a pipe coupler at the receiver. pics of the build:
  2. cleaner, nice collection. I like those wood finger groove grips. and all the compacts. too
  3. I had a go at that a while ago http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...ndpost&p=950344
  4. I got a used WE 3.8 type B yesterday and played a little mix-n-match 3.8" Type A with the type B hammer spring housing Compact frame with type A junk and the 4.3" slide and barrel Full frame with the type B hammer, trigger, beavertail, ambi safety, and 3.8" typ B slide and barrel (Took some filing to get the beavertail on) Group shot (bottom right is the 8mm detonics, top left is the WA Kimber)
  5. Finally finished my 249 style boxmag for ye olde shrike. Homemade from a r/s box, m4 hicap, rc servo, and junk.
  6. Hoy! I made some grips for my compact WE. It was some random pine or poplar I had, with a bit of random stain, and a shot of clear epoxy paint. And being a "not too good photographer" I apologize for the less than stellar pics out of my "pretty decent" digicam. But, I take most of my pics in the basement under the harsh glare of florescent lights. Maybe I'll try some outdoors in natural light sometime. And here goes a mini review: I got one of these: we 1911 4.3 http://www.uncompany.com/pageproductdetails.asp?prodid=9672 and one of these: we
  7. I used the white crayon trick on the raptor. Kind of gives it a whole new look. before after
  8. New toys a couple new WE 1911's. I ordered the super compact 3.9 from unco, but they sent a full frame 4.3 so after a long drawn out email convo (chinese new year and all) I decided to keep it and then ordered the 3.9 from evike. 3.9 3.9 w/ my v10 grip on it and the 4.3 3.9 with unstained homemade grips I'm working on clockwise from top left- WA V10/ultra raptor II, Marushin Detonics 8mm, WA SV3.9, WE 1911 4.3, WE 1911 3.9 mmmm 45's (sorry for the sv in the 1911 thread)
  9. Yeah, the trades are wrong according to the CAm16VN thread Also, I added on a sling attachment ring. Beside that, there's no spring loaded stock and I used a different method for retracting / locking it. When I was modding the stock, I got a little crazy and had to fix up the back end more than I planned. And the mag release fence, but all of that doesn't bother me. Maybe a purist. Anyway I got a real steel 70's era full stock and triangle handguards from CTD to make the conversion. One more shot:
  10. I've been working on modding a CA M16VN into a colt model 607 ( http://www.retroblackrifle.com/ModGde/CrbGde/607.html ) It's almost done. Not 100% accurate (Trades, fence, modstock not exact) but I'm pleased with how it's turning out, anyway.
  11. Nice review. I'd have mine by now, but UnCo either grabbed the wrong box or WE put the wrong gun in. I got the compact full frame model instead of the 3.8 But at least your review is making me less patient to get the whole thing sorted out Nice pics, too.
  12. dhindo, that rifle looks amazing. Everything just works. If you had more OD or more black, then blah. But that's a beauty. Good job.
  13. Lightsabers http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/ for when I run out of bb's
  14. Maruzen M1100 defender mag fed shotty. Mags hold 18 bb's, and it shoots 3 at a time. The top fold stock was added from a g&p kit for the ca870. It needed new hinge pins because the grip is different on this gun. I still need to make a new charging handle. I don't have many pics of this gun, but if you really really need some more, I could get on it. edit for spiellinga
  15. Husky, both are 3w white leds. One's a tcss and the other's are home made. Back on topic, a late breaking addition to the collection. A TM AK with a G&P metal body/folding stock tac kit. I left off the ris handguards and the finger groove grip because I like the "wood look" better. Also sporting a chop job front end (imagine that ) and a mock pbs style suppressor.
  16. Yup, I used a harbor freight micro mill/drill and 1/4" and 1/8" ball end mills. Basicly a tiny manual vertical mill. The ball end mills have radiused cutting tips as opposed to flat like normal endmills. That's how I got the groove cut. I also used it to remove most of the sights, then finished with sandpaper and scotchbrite.
  17. Posted it here: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...dpost&p=1190091 But it's a DE SL-8 with a CA ris (chopped) and a couple magwell convo's to use uzi mags.
  18. I finished painting the bits on my kimber, and decided to color in the trades. Also removed the sights on my Marushin Detonics and milled in a "sight groove" then gave it a bit of "weathering". Last pics are updates of my gun wall Enjoy.
  19. I'll bet that its out of the same factory (mine's an a&k). Fit and finish are decent, but not TM grade. A little creaky, the body seems like it might be brittle and the stock is pretty cheap feeling. The front end is pretty sturdy, there's all sorts of screws and bolts holding it together. Fps and long term durability are still up in the air, but it seems to shoot ok. Doesn't sound all grindy or weird. I'm pretty happy with my cheap clone
  20. Awesome. Another convert to the church of chop. "All your barrels am belong to US" Glad I could help
  21. I got a clone m4 s-system in yesterday, and proceeded to give it the special treatment As purchased: A couple minutes later: Put on the lr stock, and a short outer barrel I had: Stock closed/no flash: Artsy fartsy shot:
  22. I got a used LR stock, threw it on my src m4 jobby, and pasted on a fatty homemade flash hider. The stock is destined for a clone S-System that's due in today
