  1. My Taurus PT1911 project is now done...... Slide is a TM 1911a1 with custom cocking serrations added (not brilliant but they'll do). Lowered and flared ejection port. Custom rear sight (TM VSR cut and shaped to suit) and custom made fore sight added, resembling the straight eight Heinie real steel sights. Tanio Koba tactical grip added. TM 'Desert Warrior' black trigger (holes are wrong but its close to the real thing) and KM ring hole hammer. Guarder black FLR and custom made guide rod plug added (TM 1911a1 drilled through to suit FLR). The beavertail grip safety is a T
  2. Thanks for the compliment To fill in the original markings I used Squadron MMD white putty filler, it seems to chemically bond with the ABS plastic of the slide, much better than Milliput which, when under stress with the firing action of the slide, cracks and chips. I then sanded down with 120-320 grades of sandpaper, finishing off with a two coat spray of Halfords matt black paint.
  3. My latest creation....Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special She started out as a Marui MEU but has now been fitted or customized with the following parts: Airsoft Surgeon BBH and cylinder head. Action enhanced loading nozzle. Nineball Hop rubber. LCT solid trigger. Dytac 'glow' fore sight. Tanio Koba MSH. TM 1911a1 chequered slide lock. TM 4.3 combat hammer (polished). Custom 'Les Baer' type single thumb safety (original MEU 'Kings' ambi-safety modified). Custom un-marked slide with additional forward cocking serrations (original slide markings filled and resprayed). Custom
  4. Thanks 'SamJacksonFan' I would have got the slide engraved with the correct 'Jim Wilson' signature but my local engravers CNC software couldn't handle it...damn
  5. Ed Brown Sheriff 'Jim Wilson' special..... Base gun TM MEU with the following standard parts customized and added by me: Custom made single thumb safety (Tanio Koba) Custom made MSH Custom made 'Faux Ivory' grips Custom engraved barrel bushing Custom engraved barrel chamber Customized slide Grip safety (Tanio Koba) Customized slide lock Custom made magazine bumper She shoots and functions like a dream
  6. Thanks, as you can tell I do love the 1911 Clockwork_O said: 'damn nice work only pity the slide is plastic'. Yes its plastic but that's all I can afford, so I have to 'make do and mend' wherever I can. Thanks guys for all your comments its very much appreciated
  7. Thanks mate, yep its the stock slide
  8. True you can but you still have to notch out for the bushing also i filled and sanded the original markings then cut additional cocking serrations and had the slide engraved with the 'Caspian' logo....depends what you consider customized i suppose
  9. Many apologies guys for quoting pics DOH! Anyway here to make it up to you all is my latest creation... This is a TM 1911a1 frame mated to a TM 5.1 customized slide, with Nova furniture and my own handmade grips in Black Walnut. The Ed Brown Sheriff 'Jim Wilson' 1911 special is on the back burner due to lack of parts....damn
  10. I just love this one 'RacingManiac', awesome job
  11. Very sneeky there 'SamJacksonFan' using the WA mags with a TM pistol  I believe i may have the answer to the rear sight debate. The original rear sight that was fitted prior to full production was the WA type but was changed to the one in the Hurricane kit due to SIS Officer's requesting a sight that could be used to rack the slide one handed should the Officer be incapacitated as the original did not allow for this. Yes' RacingManiac' i thought it humorous that a "low profile" and "undercover" team of cops should advertise their work by having a 1911 made specially for the
  12. I believe its the Hurricane kit as it has the correct rear sight (WA one is wrong so im led to believe). The mags...hhmmm? yes the two dots near their bases don't tally with TM MEU mags, so this is now a little perplexing?
  13. OH MY GOD!!!!!! That is just gorgeous 'SamJacksonFan', Hurricane kit fitted to TM MEU i suppose? Are the mag release button and forsight the original MEU ones? Only the mag button looks chequered and the sight seems squarer to me. Also noticed the slide lock lever is a 'Kimber' style one so is this 'Nova' ?
  14. Thanks for the heads up 'RacingManiac' regards KWA/TM compatibility issue Had a feeling they were diffrent, pity as their latest line up would make some really good cross kit/custom builds, oh well. Cheers for the info on the grips 'mrk'
  15. Nice build there 'mrk'. Any idea what the manufactures were for the hammer and grips? Also just to throw a question out to all...the new KWA single stack 1911s are they compatible with Marui internals/externals etc?
  16. Opps, Sorry but im still getting use to posting on here Thanks for correcting my posts though, much obliged.
  17. Well done on spotting that my friend ha ha ha! Yes Nineball its a pity they don't do more styles of plastic slide as they are so easy to convert. OK the 'Golf balling' to the grips on the Ed Brown i did myself using, yes you guessed it, a 'Dremel' fitted with a fine tip sanding tool. Lot of work and a steady hand but looks OK, not quite the 'chain link' type Ed Brown has but near enough. Front sight is a standard TM MEU Novak type. With regards the 'Jim Wilson' special 1911 the parts required are: TM MEU (donor gun) LCT Series 70 MSH (buy this from WGC) TM 5.1 slide lock
  18. Oh and this is my other project ive just fine tuned and completed... Ed Brown Special Forces. Im also going to be attempting the Ed Brown 'Sheriff Jim Wilson' special addition in the not to distant future... when funds allow purchase of another TM MEU to convert Nine Ball slide mated to a TM1911A1, which was a pain to fit as the guide rod holes where out of alignment
