  1. Just to pass on alittle custom job ive done recently regarding sights... If you own a Marui VSR sniper rifle or know someone who does, They will usually dispense with the iron sights and fit a scope, sooo here's a neat way to use the now none used, rear iron sight: Alittle bit of cutting and sanding is all that's needed, oh and a screw that fits the thread in the blowback housing...simple.
  2. Yes mate, always liked Maple wood. By the way, Maple is the correct name for the wood not White Oak as you said in your post Im now experimenting on the standard plastic grips Marui supply with their 1911's, to see if i can sand them down smooth and then apply a nice custom paint job. When ive completed a set i'll bring them along to MIA for you to have a butcher's at.
  3. OK here's a photo for you then... Quick question: does anyone know if there is a 'Nova' parts stockist in the UK?
  4. Hmmm damn! oh well 'M@tt-4576' it seems you have a duff mag, you could try sending it back to the place that sold it you. Though if i were you i'd strip it down of all its parts and clean and lube the parts then soak the 'O' rings again but for a week! I know its damn frustrating but sometimes its worth leaving the seals that long in soak, as ive done numerous times with WE, Marui and Bell mag seals in the past. Try posting on the technical threads aswell, if you haven't already, with this and see if someone else may have another idea, you never know. Sorry i couldn't help more ma
  5. The Marui MEU trigger is surprisingly good but can be easily dulled with use. Nova Triggers as far as I know are of Matte finish, good quality too. Ive used Guarder triggers as replacements and been very happy with them. DO NOT get NineBall!! If you are using any of the single stack pistols by Marui as the triggers are a little short so the holes disappear within the frame, their OK for the Hi-capa types in this respect but be warned the finish is a horrid dull pitted silver.
  6. Its the Marui MEU trigger but im thinking of changing it out for a Guarder one, as per my other 1911s. Glad to be of help 'M@tt-4576'. I had another thought on this, it could be the small spring inside the valve sticking, again soak it all in lube and see what happens. Goodluck ;-)
  7. If the 'O' ring is damaged then its a replacement im afraid, try a local DIY centre they may have a selection of 'O' rings of that size, or try the web for a replacement. On the other hand if you unscrew the the two halves there should be a spring inside the tube itself if this is missing that could be the problem. Or the milled out hole in the bottom of the magazine the valve sits in, is slightly over sized, other than that im at a loss. I would still soak it all in Silicon/Teflon lube over night and see. Sorry i couldn't be of more help.
  8. Latest project now complete...Caspian with Colt slide. Marui 1911A1/MEU based
  9. This could be due to the nice people at the 'ARMY' factory damaging or forgetting to put the rubber 'O' rings in. I had a similar problem with my 'Bell' 1911A1 only the rubber 'O' rings were cut in half as the valve was screwed in to place at the factory! Or the rubber seals are just 'dry' as both mags that came with my 'Bell' 1911A1 were bone dry!! Just soak them in silicon/teflon lube over night and it should clear up the problem. Hope that helps.
  10. Seems no one replied visibly on this thread to your initial question 'pedrosalas7' I think the WA eye candy got the better of them I had to buy a set of Bo-mar sights recently and got them from here: http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk/index.htm They weren't cheap £30 for just the rear sight alone! I have no idea if he ships abroad or what additional costs will be but its got to be worth asking if it will complete your project 'pedrosalas7'. Hope that helps.
  11. OGGY you may well need to cut a small groove in the right side back upper edge of your 1911A1 grips, if using the Ed Brown style Ambi thumb safety, to allow for the locking pivot arm, both the Kimber and Kings type safeties use a captured head hammer pin to hold the right side of the safety in place. goodluck with it
  12. Love that look 'Romulus', exceptional work
  13. I see your trying for the 'Punisher' look 1911's there 'Spencerman' nice Yes thought of doing these lovely ladies myself, if you pardon the expression The only place i can think may sell them or at least try to get them for you is here: http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk/index.htm They may not be cheap as i recently bought a Bo-mar rear sight from them for a TM 5.1 and it came to £30 looking forward to seeing your upcoming projects 'Stealth1911' sounds intriguing, good luck.
  14. Thanks for the comment 'Stealth1911' its much appreciated. She was alot of work but worth it. To be honest the only real headaches in her building was the recoil plug/bushing conversion, front chin cut outs to slide and the frame front strap grip which is a piece of belt from a industrial sander, the red nobly type. This is my sixth custom 1911 type ive built, i must be a glutten for punishment
  15. The first version of this pistol I custom built using a Marui 4.3 pistol but have now finally completed it as per the real steel type with a single stack magazine. Parts list: TM 1911A1 frame plus internals, outer barrel(customized), barrel bushing(customized) and recoil spring plug(customized). TM 4.3 Slide(customized), slide internals and inner barrel etc, slide stop(customized), thumb safety(customized) and hammer. TM 5.1 foresight vane and trigger. TM MEU grip safety and magazine(customized). Hand made custom wood grips in Mahogany.
  16. Well done with the polishing to that Glock 'Stealth1911'. 'Punisher' that is one NICE 1911...mmmmm.
  17. Nice grips there 'Chris North'.
  18. I was bored so came up with this..... TM 5.1/MEU hybrid, the Guarder grip is so much more comfortable in the hand than the original. The 5.1 slide has been moded to fit the 'Novak' sights and barrel from the MEU, whilst the bushing and recoil plug are SD.
  19. I hope these 1911 clones by 'Army' are better than the 'Bell' 1911A1 was God im tempted to get a chrome one of these, just on the markings alone
  20. Good pistol the ole TM 5.1. I had one for 4 and a half years hard use and it just refused to die, even though I (as an experiment) did'nt clean or strip her the entire time she was with me. A true S.A.R. gun (Simple, Accurate and reliable).
  21. Simply gorgeous 'Kimber' there 'RacingManiac'
  22. Wow that WE looks mean!!! Nice photography 'Crow'
  23. 'Golf balling' I did the dimpling effect by using a 'Dremel' with a 3mm, round headed, grinder attachment which was not that easy to use but seemed a safer idea than using a drill bit I first drew a vertical line dead centre of the fore edge of the grip, then ground by hand, a single line of holes/dimples along it and worked my way out from that. Not quiet the 'Chainlink' effect that the real steel 'Ed Brown' has but it looks OK and works well for 'gripiness' I had alot of trouble with the grip safety (Tanio Koba) , which if you are thinking of using for a TM1911A1 it will
  24. 'Ed Brown, Special Forces' customized TM 1911A1/MEU....
