  1. not too shabby ghillie...but man, you need a killflash or shroud on that scope.
  2. i would like to hear some more field experience when you have all the modifications done. however, the WA maybe be relegated to real steel weapons training use. i see the hopup is still finicky to non-existent...you are using the Ratech right? what weight BBs were you using? and how much level flight were you getting before drop off? did you make the teflon tape mods to the magazines? mine does empty the entire mag in one charge. but thats filling it up and then using the filled magazine right away. if there is a slow leak, i suppose after 20-30 mins there would not be enough g
  3. for those who have them...does the G&P valve locks look any different to the stock WA part?
  4. umm...how can u be so sure that small shards didn't penetrate when the BBs shattered? how can u be sure that shards won't penetrate from different angles or different BB manufacturers? metal mesh goggles, regardless of what material or how its made, are frankly, dangerous for your eyes playing airsoft. people who wear them are simply rolling the dice about the health of their eyes. if u have a problem with fogging, get ESS turbofans. for non-fan models...try the bolle T800, they resist fog well also.
  5. is that a bolt stop that i spy? woot!
  6. but keep in mind that you can only SAFE the weapon when the hammer is cocked. and i would store the gun with the hammer in the uncocked/up position to take tension off the trigger spring.
  7. what can one expect out of a carbine length inner barrel on h134a with .25 bbs? is h134a the same has the computer duster gas? i was told it wasn't. "real" h134a gas is the freon refill cans for automobiles is what i've been told...but can i still use computer duster gas? for those that use h134a gas...what do you use?
  8. why has noone made a reinforced bolt stop yet?!?! are you guys having no issues with the bolt stop excessively wearing/breaking? the only internals i think are an issue are: (in order of importance) -hopup chamber -bolt stop -buffer those are the internals i would swap for green gas/propane use. what are the thoughts about this from my fellow WA CQBR users?
  9. i'm lazy, but can you give me the link for RAtech's forums?
  10. aluminum, while strong, is not durable. it does not deform like steel to repeated impacts, instead it simply cracks. which is why most firearm internal parts are steel and not aluminum.
  11. what kind of steel would you use? 4140? 4150? or CMV? if you're gonna do this for sure, i'd like to order 2-3 hop up chambers, bolt stops, and bolt carriers
  12. oops...thats 370fps on .25s with green gas. thats with everything stock...should be over 400 with m4 length 6.01 inner barrel
  13. tried out the gun this weekend...didn't skirmish but just brought it out to show around and chrono. nothing really mind blowing (or haven't been already covered): -on green gas, this thing really KICKS! recoil and sound are impressive to say the least. -was chronoing 270 with .25s on h134a....370 with .25 on green -i noticed more cool down effect with H134a than with green gas. i'm looking forward to the RAtech chamber review Wup
  14. thanks for answering my questions...the only advantages for a metal body is so that i can truly secure the buffer tube and front end/delta ring. torquing down those parts on plastic threads = stripped threads. the trademarks are also alittle thin and shallow IMHO. i really like this gun...even on duster gas. i'm looking forward to saving my money and getting the necessary reinforced parts to use green gas. and also MORE mags!
  15. from a bolt open position. i insert an empty mag, when i hit the bolt stop, the bolt does not close all the way with the empty mag in...is this normal? when the mag is loaded, this doesn't not happen
  16. sometimes the bolt doesn't close into battery after inserting an empty mag...is this normal?
  17. if someone could do a picture by picture process of the front barrel/hopup dissassembly, i would greatly appreciate it. this one of my favorite threads on arnies right now....the knowledge gained is awesome!
  18. Firing: I smiled from ear to ear with the 1st trigger pull. You pull the charging handle to rack the BCG and release. 1st round is chambered. Trigger pull is crisp and response is instantaneous. There is a satisfying pop and blow back of the bolt. Then the click/clank of the bolt slamming into battery as a new round is chambered. There is noticeable recoil. you can feel the buffer move and compress under your check weld. The only thing missing would be the smell of burnt gunpowder. It is truly an unique experience if all you've shot are AEGs. Initial Dressing: I s
  19. i highly doubt that $88 is what the retailer pays for those mags. i guess that markup for retail is anywhere from 70 to 100%. don't know if its applicable to airsoft, but having worked in bike sales for a number of years, items were marked up on the average of 100%.
  20. if i only had access to a prototyping and CNC machine. i would outright copy the stock bolt-stop and make some out of 4150 steel.
  21. damn it! where is that bolt stop g&p!!!
  22. why ruin such as nice looking gun with an unrealistic coiled air hose? btw, you've got a pm
  23. just ordered my WA CQBR...probably not post worthy, but i though i'd share. WOOT!
