  1. @ Ivan Le Fou : my Shooters Design slide came with a metal outer barrel. There were little adjustments to be done for it to fit nice, especially for the rear sight. @ Squad : even though you're not really happy with the finish of the black slide, I think your USP looks really sweet.
  2. I get the point. It's preferable to have a quick gearbox access when you are maintaining/upgrading your gun. But it's just 2 screws to remove and to reinsert, not a big deal if you ask me. The rear of the gearbox isn't an issue, as long as it's sealed and you do not have a hole where you would put a screwdriver in the spring guide to keep it down when you open your gearbox. VFC AKS-XX' series have the back of the gearbox exposed too. I grant you it's only half of the gearbox, but still. And the only times when I fold the stock is when I'm indoors, so no risk of having debris, dust or dirt
  3. Thank you. I was surprised too that it lacks the motor cage. It would have been a nice touch but that doesn't prevent the gun from working correctly.
  4. I didn't fit the battery in the handguard, it was wired outside of the handguard just for the needs of the video.
  5. Hey everyone, Here's a video review for the G&G SIG 552. It is about one hour and twenty minutes long and splitted in 3 parts. I managed to cover every area I could think of, save for the chrono test (FPS and RPS), as I didn't have a chrono with me at the time. I happen to have one now and I will update the description of part 3 of my lengthy review with the results I just obtained now. I can display them here though before I do it on the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPnWaueDq4g&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKcuFQu7dtA&feature=youtu.be h
  6. Allrighty, video review coming shortly. I think I'll shoot again the accuracy test because I'm not happy with it right now. At the moment of filming this, I realized the sights were not zeroed and I didn't have any tools with me to adjust them. I'll be editing the other parts of my review in the meantime so stay tuned, I'll let you know when it's done.
  7. Well, maybe they did I don't think I'll come across another SIG anytime soon until maybe in marche, where I have to go back to the army to do my repetition course. I'll try to think of that but I guess no one will be able to tell me why is that.
  8. It never caught my attention but now that you mentioned it, I checked and it's also true on my rifle. I guess you have to paint it with the appropriate color.
  9. That pretty much sums it all. Indeed, I can confirm that the pistol grip is the same size as I too own a real steel SIG 550 (Fass 90 - short for "Fusil d'assaut 90"). I got it free because you can take it home when you finish your military service I can also add that the upper receiver of the G&G SIG 552 has a slight greenish shade compared to the lower receiver and to the whole grey body of the RS SIG. Also, the green furnitures are darker and less shiny than their RS counterpart, which I actually prefer. Stay tuned, winter holiday is just around the corner and that will give m
  10. Haven't tried it myself but I think ICS' model has one or two things going for it. The quick disassembly body is a really neat feature but hum... actually it's the only good thing I can bring up heh. I ended up getting the G&G model myself just because it's G&G and I prefer green furniture over black, externally.
  11. Hey all, Here's my video review for the Classic Army CA33K A3 review. Review consists of 3 parts but only 2 are available at the moment. Part 3 has yet to be filmed, edited and uploaded but this will be done before the end of the year. I'm looking forward to your comments and questions. Cheers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BV0s8lH-yq8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfOsRUNd0kk
  12. @ spetsnazdave87 : Great review. I've owned this rifle since this summer actually but have been to lazy to write a review on it. I ended up with the same pros and cons as you except for the MAG midcap issue (someone described me the same thing as IronOverlord as far as modding this mag goes), and it's always nice to read other people's reviews. I'm about to do a video review though and I will post it here as soon as it's done. As for the battery, G&G makes its own type of LiPo and I think you can find the same model on eliteairsoftbatteries.com. I'm going for that and I'm first and foremos
  13. I'm looking forward to get a Streamlight TLR-3 to go with my full size USP. Does anyone know if it will fit in a Safariland 6004 holster?
  14. For my UPS System 7 : minor filing on various parts of the slide or on the chassis needed, can't remember exactly (get yourself a dremel if you don't have one, it WILL help you), filing on the rear sight and didn't need to get a stronger recoil spring. The stock one works fine.
