Okay, thanks for all of your help uscmCorps and others. I think I will put the Costa project on hold and save that for a later date and start with a VFC SR16. Until then, are there any other guns (preferably Costa or Haley) that I can replicate accurately with an M4 without having to buy any front sets, etc.? Thanks!

Hi fellow Armalite owners! I am new to the sport, and just purchased my first AEG, a KWA M4 carbine. I am pleased with this gun, but I want to start upgrading it (externally) now. I saw Chris Costa's 11.5in carbine and fell in love with it. Now, I want to recreate it, like uscmCorps has done, but I realize that I don't have the correct base gun (I have an M4, I need an SR16). Is there any way I can recreate his carbine without having to buy a new gun/front set/etc? Is this my only option? I have a loose parts list, and all help is appreciated! As I said, each to his own. I don't have anything against painted AKs, I just personally like the look of classic AKs.

I personally think its ugly. But hey, I'm an AK purist, and each to his own. I'm sure its functional. That paintjob would be nice.... if it wasn't on an AK

Thanks for letting me know What is the difference between an AIM and an AIMS? Isn't an AIMS the one with the weird triangular(sp) folding stock?
