  1. The ICS L85 may well turn out to be cheaper and reliable although its hard to tell yet. The stars are good but yeah not cheap, i've spent a small fortune on mine. The sas smock is a good buy even if you're not going for an sf loadout. you can kinda get away with a belt order although you really need a plce assault vest or an arktis. The uksf m4s are actually Diemaco SFWs (L119A1). I'd do it with a g&p RIS m4 as a base and add an army code L119 outer barrel kit, an acog and a butt-pad. That'll give a fair approximaton for you. Im having difficulty seein the M14 working in a b
  2. on patrols gear is pretty good, kit monster has a load of pouches too I kinda want to get an osprey but i'm a racing snake and can only find flecktarns expensive ones in my size. Also not sure I can be arsed dragging a Mk6 around all day on a skirmish - boonie and osprey doesn't really look right. I'm probably just gonna get a molle vest and squeeze the pouches on that. G
  3. yeah it feels like a p90 in terms of length and cqb - but without silly magazines Eotech improves the looks and functionality by loads I'm about 6 foot if that helps put it into perspective... G
  4. agreed L22A1 is current issue. If I remember the original was just refered to as L85A1 carbine. Thats were a lot of people get confused with the current L85A2 carbine... anyway pics of mine at proteus a while back: will have more action shots in proper combat gear in the next couple of weeks...
  5. I found my eotech was too low without the rail and was at a slight angle
  6. Well I've added a new vertical grip - both more comfortable and looks more integral to the weapon: Its just come out of the work shop - apparently the Piston O ring had broken. Its also now got a prometheus 6.03mm tightbore and the madbul shark hop. Hopefully will be shooting very nicely now. Couple of people mentioned to me about fitting a suppressor to it so heres coupler of pics with a shorty TM pro and a socom type. Personally I don't think I like it with a suppressor though: Grim
  7. official issue for vehicle crews was supposed to be 2 20r mags + 2 30r mags in a specially made assault vest. Operationally though most tankies just stick with NI chest rig or standard vest. Most of the tankies out in the dust bowl are doing infantry work anyway and are issued with L85/L86 and Minimi like them. Personally i'm just sticking with basic british DPM and not doing anything special - I just went with the AFV for the compact killing machine qualities. l'd say do something thats just basic generic british loadout and just go for the weapon cos you like it and its practical.
  8. it's still got the stock barrel in it but im fairly sure its a tight barrel anyway - it certainly shoots fine. Not had chance to measure any groups but certainly accurate and consistant. Cos its a bullpup the barrel is M4/G36K length but length isn't that much more than the P90. Weight is comfortable and feel is awesome. With the Eotech on its not too heavy and is easily manageble for cqb
  9. Its so much fun and the Eotech is perfect for it. I've just got a systema 1J spring fitted - downgrading is so easy on this weapon Batterries are a little fiddly - it fits in ok but you have to push the wires back into it with a screwdriver or allen key. Try and push the connectors into the space below the battery alongside the barrel. It just nails everyhting you shoot at. G
  10. Does anyone else find their mags are loose in the housing? my star mags are a little loose & wobbly and the Guarder HK style hicaps i got to go with it are very loose and can be pulled off the weapon without releasing the catch AFV batteries are an absolute pain to fit/remove apart from this very very happy with my new baby
  11. Couple of me and mine last weekend: hmmm looking a little dark and unclear - will try and do a weapon only one later
  12. I've been taping my mags together for a while now - the locking pins have proved to be a little too easy to damage and half my mags have broken or loose tabs on them. Generally broke if dropped while together or bashed against things in cqb while stuck together
  13. now that ive painted it its not as noticeable - i think it just stood out more with the greyer shade. all the g36 handguards have seams like that and ive seen it done better. anyone buying or using it isnt going to care though as it looks like it'll stand what ever extremes its put through. As far as durability is concerned it feels more solid than the marui although time will tell.
  14. Have just got the new G&P K foregrip, Its a nice bit of kit, Piccys are on the way. Its well built although the seem is a little unsightly - but no so you'd care. its a little on the grey side as per every other g&p G36 part - but nothing a little paint wont solve if you care about that. the only problem I had was the sling loop/hand stop - the holes were too small for my sling clips so I put the original Marui part on instead. The sling loop/hand stop is made of plastic not steel which surprised me. The barrel/flash is the right length but the flash is a little square ra
  15. eye reliefs quite good - not got it sat in front of me at mo but reckon at least a couple of inches. I can use it fine with a chunky pair of goggles on. Never used the CA one - both the G&P and Star are 3.5x magnification as opposed to CAs 1.5x Star used to be awful, but releasing their g36 series seems to be forcing them to improve their quality. Anyone out there using the new star g36's? I only got to play with one for 5 mins and wouldnt mind hearing some reviews from some owners - especially the optics quality. Edit: Have just found this from a while back: http://
  16. Qualities excellant - i get a lot of use out them - can see the bb's hitting my target quite clearly. the reticule is an accurate replica as well. It is however the wrong colour - i've had to paint mine black as it comes in a greyish colour. And you dont have the red dot either. Im kinda hoping that G&P will do a dual optics version soon. Was out skirmishing this weekend and one of the guys had a brand new star g36 and the optics on that were very good - still not perfect but enough to make me go hmmm and want to give them a go. I suppose they had to improve them for their
  17. My pair: Both are TM G36C's with internals upgraded. The K has G&P optics & PDC's replica of the Knights RAS. Barrel on the K is about 2-3cm too long at the mo. I end up taking full advantage of the RAS and swaping bipods, grenade launchers etc depending on what we're doing. In the photo its in its support role setup with bipod and Hero Arms CMag. Probably going to be fitting the Star Dual optics to the C as I was looking at the new ones and their optics quality has improved with the latest release. G
