  1. Man, that M.E. Green looks frickin' GREEN! Nice to see another Stealth Hoodie user
  2. Not seen those specific pics before tinkle, thanks. It looks BIGGER than the 3-day in the second pic! I'm still interested in one as a carry-on bag for flights, though. It has the ID window, a big carry handle, and the size is perfect. That's the market for it, right there. Anyway, yeah, I should have phrased it better. Packs like the TT 1-day and the HAWG are a relatively new thing and don't seem to have a name yet. The HAWG is a HAWG and doesn't seem to be categorisable. Ah well, you get what I mean.
  3. I've always seen them as an evolution of the hydro pack, funnily enough. I mentioned the use of a SMALL 3-day pack, more in line with the new TT 1-day pack or something even smaller (Camelbak HAWG, for example). Yeah, you have an extra set of straps, but to me something like the HAWG would be infinitely more useful than a MAP. Going back to what I was saying, I'm not saying the MAP is a bad design - far from it. What I'm trying to figure out is why so many people use them. I'd have thought they were far too niche an item for the widespread use they seem to have gained.
  4. You've technically got those Grimlocs/Grimlocks/Grimloks on wrong The PALS webbing itself goes through the little 'slit' in the thicker bit, holding the thing in place. It can be hard work getting the webbing through into it, but it's worth it. Nice rig, though. I have the newer PACA with the 3 individual straps on each side, so I might try linking them together like your older one - having to redo 3 straps each time is a pain...
  5. Now that I can see a use for. Same goes for the Paraclete RAV/RMV Assaulter's Back Panel. The reason is, they're divided up and serve a specific purpose - flashbangs in one pouch, mags in another, breaching tools elsewhere, etc etc. The MAP, on the other hand, just seems unfocussed. It's not obvious what's in each pouch - nothing is discretely marked. Yeah, you can arguably get more in a MAP, but if you need to carry a lot of stuff, why not just run a small 3-day pack? EDIT: Reading my post through, it sounds really negative. I'm not slating the MAP design as rubbish, but I jus
  6. If you want an accurate look when you'll want to roll those sleeves down. I believe rolling up of sleeves isn't authorised with ACUs, for some reason. If you moved those pouches over to an IBA you'd have the beginnings of a pretty decent early-OIF loadout.
  7. I don't get the MAP craze at all. As I see it, it's a way of carrying quite a bit of kit without having to wear a pack over your rig, yeah, great. But you can't get to it unless you completely doff your rig (or unless you have someone else rummage around in there for you). That seems clumsy, inconvenient and, in a real situation, potentially dangerous. I just can't see the usefulness, personally, at least not in the HUGE numbers that the latest craze surrounding them seems to be producing. I mean, I'll be the first person to admit that they look cool, but they only seem useful to me in ve
  8. You might want to suggest to him that he updates his site, then. It's still showing them out of stock... Oh yeah, those lovely Scarpa boots got broken in nicely yesterday... These things are COMFORTABLE, and the CushNStep insoles get two thumbs up. Not feeling yesterday on my feet or knees at all.
  9. Yep, got mine from Triad. I snagged the very last Tan Medium in stock
  10. thomasw, very nice looking kit and that is an AWESOME site safezone. Where the heck is it?
  11. My brand new PACA armour carrier in Tan. Skirmished it today, actually. A little warm, as you'd expect, but very comfy. None of that replica rubbish here
  12. See? Again with the aggression. I asked a simple, honest question, and you have a go at me. Cool it, please, or about my favourite thread on here will be locked. EDIT: For the record, my rig is MJK, with a CB Camelbak and a mixture of different shades of CB, Tan and OD pouches. It sits over a (very light) Tan PACA. This sits over ACUs, and I have Lib-2s with a US Woodland headband cover on my head. So yes, I clearly hate mixing patterns and colours.
  13. If you use the FAPC for MOUT ops with SEALs, what's the RAV reserved for? NBC testing with Ranger Delta PJs?
  14. No. And I said you were hostile because you called me a liar. Anyway, you haven't answered my question - is that the cummerbund off your FSBE?
  15. Why the hostility to an innocent question?
  16. Grow that beard to ZZ Top extremes, and I'll give you respect for it
  17. Hey Blarney, is that the cummerbund off your FSBE or did it come with the HPC?
  18. Yep, a couple of times. Not sure if it's the same guy each time, though.
  19. Yep, and I love it. I never use the funky special settings, but the red, low white and bright white settings are great. The only issue I have is that it can be easy to accidentally part-twist the bezel. First of all, loadout your rig with EVERYTHING you can think of that you might need. Fill up all that space, and make sure you've got EVERYTHING. Make a list. Then take a step back. Look at what you NEED, not what you want. Look at what is duplicated and need not be. Think of things that are unneccessarily big or heavy. Strip it all down, updating the list, until you have about h
  20. That chest rig needs to run higher up, too.
  21. LORD_SEX, awesome pics, man. Nothing to say other than that!
  22. Yeah, the TRU is a direct copy of the ACU design as far as I know. I absolutely love my ACUs - the design is almost spot-on. The only issue is the inwards-slanted chest pockets, but I never use them anyway.
  23. Try these guys: http://www.custompatches.net/ I hear good things. We're getting them to do ours.
  24. Might have already been posted, I dunno. We're about to get a batch of these done
  25. Probably Saturday and Sunday, mate
