  1. so it looks light against a dark background and dark against a light background. Thats not really selling it for me im afraid. Surely cam is meant to blend in with the background? Could you show some pics of it against a backdrop of similar colour please Darkchild
  2. thanks for the advice but if you read my first post you would see that im waiting on a pair of altama desert boots to come through the post Darkchild
  3. Thanks guys. Ill probably give those x-tacs a miss, i find that kneepads with those clips have a tendancy to loosen themselves off (which is why i still use old style hellstorm pads). As for coyote brown, admittedly it works just as well as OD, but is just a trend. Most neutral colours work equally well in most environments, people like it cos wars are in deserts. Wait til It kicks off in Korea and everyone will be running around in OD again. Darkchild
  4. meh, who cares, OD goes with everything (and i looooove it). Do they make x-tacs with velcro straps? I hate the usual hatch clip system. Darkchild
  5. Here's my latest loadout in progress, still needs a lot of work (i need comms, old style altama desert boots, OD kneepads amongst other stuff) and i havent even started upgrading my gun. But its a start. Just a couple of posey pics so i can see what i look like. I like my new RICAS and the multisham combats are ok too (the top is better than the bottoms though) comments/criticism is welcome but bear in mind i am not imitating anything. Also posted in pics of gear. Darkchild
  6. Here's my latest loadout in progress, still needs a lot of work (i need comms, old style altama desert boots, OD kneepads amongst other stuff) and i havent even started upgrading my gun. But its a start, and should look cool when its done. Just a couple of posey pics so i can see what i look like. I like my new RICAS and the multisham combats are ok too (the top is better than the bottoms though) comments/criticism is welcome but bear in mind i am not imitating anything. Darkchild
  7. The AI shirts are abnormally huge, i bought a medium and the material came down to my knees, it was like a dress. If you anything near normally sized, you need to purchase a small. The ones that AI are marketing as the MK2 shirts (ie the ones in desert DPM) are identical to the BCB ones, so they, in contrast, size up small. Darkchild
  8. ok cool, i also have one of those AI shirts and they are HUGE! I was well disappointed with it. Darkchild
  9. What size are you? i have a spare Issued UBACS that i would sell. It was worn once by one of my rifleman before he gave it to me cos it was too big for him. The only thing thats wrong with it is my boy wrote his ZAP number on the pocket in permenant marker. It is a size large (and it is large, the issued ones are quite generously sized) Darkchild
  10. The BCB ones are excellent, i have 2. I would advise buying a size larger than normal though as they come up a bit small. I fit a large when im normally a medium in usual clothes. They are comfy and well made, the padding is removable and the pockets are just right for compasses/notebooks etc. The only thing wrong with them is the silly little buttons on the pockets. I replaced those with velcro strips, much more robust! The issued UBACS, however, is much better. It already comes with velcro on the pockets, the pockets are larger and the material is more comfy. Though i dont bel
  11. Lol. (imagines throwing m14 as a stick ) I have no idea how the cat felt that gun was comfortable, but the lazy git will sleep on anything. Darkchild
  12. Whatever floats your boat dude. Just be warned that if you pad it out fully it will be the least comfortable armour you will ever wear. Darkchild
  13. Why on earth would you want one of those? When they are properly filled, you cannot raise your weapon into the aim properly or move your head around with a helmet on. They only brought those out as a stop gap while the army waited for the osprey system. I mean, each to their own and all but that vest was designed to be used while standing static on top cover. You are not meant to fight and move in it. Urgh. Darkchild
  14. The topic isnt about shooting cats, its about owning them. Anyway, here's one of Koal, sleeping on "old faithful" Darkchild
  15. My Warrior RICAS compact, got through the post today. Im impressed with how tight it adjusts. Darkchild EDIT: the colour looks really bright cos of the harsh lights in my living room. In reality its much darker.
  16. What the hell are you on about, you have words because your hatred of cats makes you send your dog after them? What you wrote makes no sense. Darkchild
  17. *sigh* i remember seeing them in stock once, shame i hated multicam at the time, im kicking myself now though! Darkchild
  18. @Medic and Akira: Awesome weapons and loadouts guys, my love for multicam has blossomed nicely thanks to pics like these! Akira, what make of top and pants are you wearing? Darkchild
  19. Me, in Iraq, In this months FHM. Punk journalist took about a million photos then used the crappiest one, ie the only one with him in it (surprise surprise). Im second from the left, looking like im leaning at a funny angle. Darkchild
  20. is that an American design? It is identical to our issued night vision (designated Head Mounted Night Vision Sight by the army). Ours comes in a large OD nylon pouch with a head mount + helmet mounting kit. its a nice piece of gear, i used to carry mine in a grenade pouch on my osprey, connected with a bit of 550 cord. Darkchild
  21. Some of the civilian bus drivers in the COB in Basrah were issued this vest, apart from that ive never seen it anywhere else. Darkchild
  22. yep, it takes a while to get used to but shorter, faster steps are the way foward (literally) when it comes to tabbing. I suffered for years taking long strides due to my lanky legs but when i finally forced myself to adapt i now find it much easier. Breaking up your movement between walking and shuffling slowly every couple of hundred metres (even if everyone else is still walking) normally helps your stamina too as you are constantly switching between different muscles. Good luck if you get another try Darkchild
  23. I like the idea of the noveske flash hider, may have to get one of those, but i like the stock and the launcher, fitting that launcher to that gun was the main reason i bought them. Might stick with iron sights, what do you think would be a good looking rear sight? The carrying handle/rail is only on there temporarily. Darkchild
  24. ew no! Im a midcapper. I was thinking more along the lines of flash hiders, different furniture and the like. Darkhild
  25. Thought i'd post this here too to show my latest shooter, its an early work in progress. What can i do to make it look more aggressive? Its already stubby and ugly but i want it more so! Darkchild
