I have just upgraded two version 3 gearboxes with this, and I love it. I am experienced at shimming gears, and I would much prefer to use this set. It makes taking the gearbox apart and putting it back together a dream. Best of all the tappet plate slips under the harness, keeping it from jumping out of it's groove.

Bitter End Airsoft Goggles™ Review
ryn1523 replied to uscmCorps's topic in Tactical Equipment and Accessories
I have used a pair of BitterEnd goggles for about a year and a half now and I can say they are top-notch. I have never has one bit of any kind of debris pass through them, let alone shards of BB. -
I pulled my mechbox out tonight, it seems the Tappet is sticking in the rear position quite a bit. I am going to squirt some silicone oil down there and see if that helps. That explains the wierd feeding issue.

Maybe I have missed this problem in the last 63 pages, but here is what I have going on. I have the Para model with about 10,000+ thru it with no real problems. I just decided to thro an M120 in it and started noticing that when I first start shooting that bb's are just falling out of the barrel or only going maybe 20ft. Then it seems to "warm up" and blast away out to pretty good distances until I let up and then shoot again a few minutes later. I am using a 9.6 2200 battery. Could the mag be feeding the bb's to fast into the barrel and the mechbox can't keep up? I was thinking the heavier sp

Hey Static, I have tons of m249 links and pretty sure I have some green tip ss109 and tracers. I can whip out a dummy chain for you. PM me. On another note, for realism the fact that the gun doesn't take a mag is really no big deal. The original Minimi model had that feature, but most of the current production guns, including the MK46, don't have the feature at all. IMHO, they should have just left the feature off of the Star altogether if it wasn't going to be functional.

If it is like the real steel version, you should be able to just cam the lever that is just forward of the feed tray and then pull the barrel forward, up and out. I am ready to take the plunge on the Para, overall are your early impressions good? Do you feel it is worth the $$ so far?

Does the quick change barrel really work, or is it just for show?
