  16. Fitting the stock wasn't too bad, it took about 3/4 hour to an hour of careful work with a Dremel. There were a number of spots inside the stock that needed removal of material. The main one being the guide slots for the trigger guard assembly, the slots are placed a little too far back and thus needed enlarging forward slightly to allow the trigger guard to locate and lock correctly. Once the guard was fitting ok I also found that I needed to remove a little from around the trigger area as the trigger itself was rubbing on the stock interior and stay in the pulled position when released. The
  17. A few pics of my recently tarted up TM M14 (OD fibre stock). I've fitted a ProArms wooden stock (Mk2 version so the label on the box says), VFC steel stock liner screw heads and bipod stud and a G&P brown top heat cover which I put through the abrasive blaster at work to matt down the finish. Vanilla set up with original M1/M14 web sling "Pimped up" with King Arms scope mount, Guarder rubber armoured 3-9x40 Red/Green illuminated scope, King Arms spring eject Harris type bipod and repro M1907 leather sling. I can safely say I am now a very happy bunny.

    Weapon artwork

Some really nice artwork of various weapons:- The Dogfight Ink Armory
  20. CG? Sorry mate you'll have to explain, I'm an armourer not a blanket stacker!
  21. No "worse" than that it would actually refer to the grenade itself not the weapon. The weapon itself would be coded 1055-00-******* according to what I can find out. Jeez I really must get out more!
  22. For the spotters and anal retentives out there (ie ME! ) the NATO Stock Number as stamped on the STAR L85s TMH seems the be stuff of fantasy. The number displayed is 1310-05-401-9196 Under the NSN system the above number can be explained as follows:- 1310 indicates ammunition of between 30mm and 75mm in calibre. 05 is the country code. 00 through to 09 are assigned to the USA. UK is 99 and Germany is 12. The last seven figures are a non specific number that identifies the item within its nomenclature. The number should be something like 1005-99-******* <
  23. Nice work there. I did the same with an M1A1 Thompson stock, it looks good but you've done a far tidier job internally than I did.
  24. Cheers fella! Really was an excellent day all round. I don't know how we managed to hold you all back at the hill with all that long grass. I hope I didn't do you too much damage! I found a nice line of "bullet holes" on my left leg when I got home, someone got me good and proper but strangely it didn't hurt so I'd forgotten about it.
  25. With a cheesy grin after a top day at Gunman Airsoft having used my new TM OD M14 for the first time with great success. The "ESU" with one hanger on, namely me!
