    FN Picture Thread

My ARES L1A1 Self Loading Rifle. Where appropriate some metal parts have been paint stripped and refinished to replicate the real weapon more closely, notably the fake bolt carrier and the butt plate. The ARES wooden furniture set was purchased separately and I stripped it back, stained it, gave it a good soaking in boiled linseed oil and then finished off by rubbing in a beeswax/turps/linseed oil mix. The sight is an L2A1 SUIT (Sight Unit Infantry Trilux) manufactured in April 1972. The dust cover incorporating the SUIT adapter mount is a new reproduction purchased from DS Solutions in Kent. The L1A3 bayonet was from Time Militaria also in Kent Clicking on the photos should bring up enlargements.

My mates Classic Army blowback SPC after I'd fitted a Madbull ACE stock to it for him, the Magpul front furniture he'd already fitted beforehand. Sent from my ST15i using Tapatalk 2

    M1 Garand

NB: I have since sold my Marushin M1, it's a lovely collectors piece but not much cop as a practical skirmishing tool. My real and airsoft M1s. The first pictures feature my Marushin 8mm M1 Garand which while being a very nice piece of kit I found was not a practical skirmishing rifle. I now have an M14 conversion bought as a gift for me from Shoot & Scoot. I've carried out further work on it fitting a modified Pro Arms M14 wood stock, an Element HOP unit and a Vanaras 590mm long, 6.03mm inner barrel. The gearbox is all original parts cleaned and re-lubricated and as such the rifle gives me between 330 and 340 fps at the time of writing. My deactivated 1942 dated M1 Garand is shown in some shot for comparison.

    M14 Picture Thread

Cheers Tom, It has come out quite well, it's got that battle worn look to it now. If the wood work had been a darker shade to start with I would have probably left it but it was really quite pale. The varnish that was on it was really good stuff and took a lot of rubbing down to gbet the the wood beneath. The other plus is it now smells of linseed oil too which for reasons unknown I really like.

    M14 Picture Thread

I've just carried ageing and weathering work on my TM M14 fitted with a ProArms wood stock. Although it looked good, it just looked too new and perfect for my taste so I carried out a little work somewhat in line with Guiness's weathering guide. Before After

    G&G L85

Various pictures of what was a G&G L85A1 when purchased in 2005. Since then it has undergone various mods to upgrade it to L85A2 basic appearance and then onto fully updated front line configuartion.
