Unit 318
Does anyone here have/seen/used a JLS RX4? I was quite interested when looking for a cheap alternative to an M-model. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with it and if it was a good buy for ~$130. Thanks!
GuzziHero
The gun comes out of the box at 380fps which is ok for you cos youre in America Mine tends to misfeed on full auto but otherwise the gun is ace. It takes a mini battery up front, plenty of space for a 9.6. It is stupidly accurate for such a small gun, in fact I use it as a marksman rifle, especially as it is also very quiet thanks to the plastic body. The stock feels good and solid, the weight is slightly front biased but it feels really really nice and comfy to hold. You can remove the front RIS rails. Mine is a battery hog which may be because I use semi all the time. Important: it will NOT take midcaps without modification. This is because the clamshell body is shaped with a recess to allow the raised ridge on the top of magazines to meet up with the feed port. Lo/midcaps and some hicaps have longer top ridges so will not go in. All in all I love mine.
Unit 318
Is it the same modification that you have to do with the JLS FN2000? Because if it is, I know what you're talking about.
GuzziHero
Ive not used an FN2000 so i dont know...but cutting away a little plastic to extend the indent should allow you to use any mag.

GuzziHero
Ah yes, thinking about it, in the gun the indent is mate of metal so the gun couldnt be modded.
cazboab
Yes it could. It's much easier to grind down one metal part than 10+ plastic parts. Doing the mags also risks exposing or destroying the spring that holds the bbs in the mag.
GuzziHero
Well...yes. I guess anything could be modded if you try hard enough!
