Apex
Just a quick question, whould having the motor set too high cause the pistol grip to heat up rapidly ?
freddo
yes it may do, but I wouldn't set the height from the temperature of the grip. Its normally done on the sound you hear, which indicated how well the gears are mating together. with the motor too high you will hear.. nasty grinding noises possible slowing of motor motor jamming You may even see smoke out the handgrip (yes I have seen this). There are a couple of good youtube clips and best to get a skilled person at your local skirmish site to check it once you think you've got it close. Also worth noting for budding gearbox builders (like me) that shimming of the bevel gear effects the ability for the pinion and bevel to mate correctly. I've had a good smooth running shim job but the height of the bevel gear meant I couldn’t get the sound right no matter how high or low the motor height was adjusted. Now fixed! Guges Mk3
Mainly heat is mainly from "mormal" use. Cheap motor, large voltage battery = major heat
