Meathead316
Simpe question, can I achieve a lower raf by simply dropping voltage? I want between 5 and 10 rps with a high torque aeg, can i go to 7.2v or 6v? if not what is the simplest (and cheapest ) way to do it effectlivly
renegadecow
Yeah, that will drop rof a lot. That and adding a resistor. You can also get that acm adjustable rof switch. Not sure how it worked never opened one up, but I'm guessing it's just a rheostat with different set resistors.
ED-SKaR
Adjustable ROF switches and resistors all do the same thing, waste energy so that the motor only gets a lower voltage. You can put in a smaller and smaller voltage battery to get lower ROF but you put ever more strain on certain parts of the gearbox until it fails to cycle properly. High torque motor and gearset will help, try it on 7.2v nicad there are a few still around.
