Clastyclay
Hi there, I have a WE G39. It has a nice recoil. But the rubber butt plate is too comfortable. Where can I get hard plastic buttplates which are compatible with the G39? Thanks
SpankyTheDolphin
So you think the gun is too comfortable? That's......interesting. Why not just remove the rubber butt plate and leave it bare?
Clastyclay
Well ... that is a possible solution ... but I still want a flat surface.
SpankyTheDolphin
Get a sheet of black kydex and heat it up to form to the back of the butt pad. Then you'll have a solid, flat piece as the butt pad. You can secure it to the stock with paracord, rivet it together, or glue. It's kind of hard to describe what I'm suggesting but just point the gun at the floor, then flop the heated kydex on top and let gravity do it's job.
ollie_ty
Why in gods name do you want it less comfortable? The SRC butt pads are hard plastic, you could source one of them.
bankz5152
What an insane idea.
hwagan
I think the gist is the chap wants more felt recoil; With the rubber butt-pad soaking some of it up, a solid plastic one is going to lead to a harder perceived kick. Seems reasonable to me at least!
ollie_ty
Meh, Ive tried it with the plastic buttad from my SRC, you'd never know the difference. A pointless endeavour if you ask me.
SpankyTheDolphin
ollie_ty is right. If you're looking for felt recoil then changing the pad won't do much. The rubber but pad is just a little slab of rubber that doesn't cushion at all, it's mainly there for aesthetics and so it grips against your shoulder instead of sliding around. There are other ways to increase recoil.
bankz5152
Hmm maybe if you added some small needles or spikes? Would feel that for sure.
