Arnies irc chatroom

Hello everybody

You may or may not know about the irc chatroom that is hosted on Quakenet that a few of us regulars use to keep intouch with besides the forums.

If you click on the button at the top of the forum that says 'Chat' it will take you to the chat landing page [i am aware of the error that is shown; i will be following this up and see what can be done to fix it]

If you just want to jump right on in to the chatroom the bit that says "Click here to open an IRC client in your current window." will run a little java applet that will put you onto the correct server and room.

 

When you do connect you will be connected under a random name (Anon9895 etc) , in order to change the name used if you type /nick 'yournamehere' (with out the ' ) it will if the nick is available to use change it to that (quakenet is a global realtime text chat system so the name / nick may already be in use)

For thoes of us who use a stand-alone irc client the details are

Server: irc.quakenet.org
Port: 6667
Channel: #arniesairsoft

There is normally someone about but it does have its quiet times, any questions just ask

PS because of the java applet used if you use a modern browser such like FireFox / Chrome you may find that if you have a outdated version of Java that it gets blocked, you will have to update your version of java before it will let you continue (this is down to the browser)
