Tommygunn
I want to buy some video editing software but I'm having some trouble deciding what to go for.At the moment I'm hovering between Movavi Video Suite and Corel Video Studio.I am currently/want to do videos that show my High Def RC plane flying with a pic in pic of the real time OSD (On Screen Display) up in the corner. How my skills and video projects will progress in the future, I don't know. It seems that the Corel Video Studio might have more options and be more 'professional' but the Movavi seems more intuitive and less finicky. I also noticed that editing the same piece of video in both results in me slightly preferring the end product from Movavi in terms of colour rendition and clarity/focus. Any opinions on these two offerings or any others for that matter? Below is the video I did recently with the free Version of Corel. Cheers, Tom. https://youtu.be/VzqBWDdmRhE
DrAlexanderTobacco
Without knowing your specific aims past the initial video it's a little hard to recommend anything - what do you see yourself doing past what you've already done? Because, you might as well stick with Corel if it does the job. However, of all the video editing software out there Davinci Resolve is by far the best *free* piece of software - it started out as a colour grader but their video editing suite is fantastic from version 12 onwards. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/products/davinciresolve/compare
DrAlexanderTobacco
Quick edit, Resolve 12.5 is the free version if you do want to try it out.
Tommygunn
Can't really say what I want to do as I've just got into this malarky, so future proofing is the only way to summarise it. I'll give the DaVinci a go and see how I like it. Thanks, Tom.
