Dodgy Sales

I have noticed an increase in "one Time" users posting private sales up here....maybe a good idea would be to add a post minimum to diswade people from just posting sales.

But why? I happen to know there are some very good traders with unique items that have no interest in posting on the other areas of the forums.

 

As long as you follow the forums guidelines for sales you should be OK>

I agree with xRAZERx, some people just do the sales section.

 

But I do agree that it is shady sometimes. I know I wouldn't buy from someone who had no reputation, no posts on regular forums, and no contact information.

 

Alot of these bad traders out there don't even supply information. If you look at their profiles....all they have is email hidden and no location or anything. I think we might need to make location a MUST. Even if its just the staff who can see where they live.

Personally, I reckon these forums should be for private sales only.

 

People who only use the sales forums and not the other forums obviously have no interest in the airsoft community. More than likely they're just eBay traders who use the forums to unload their stock.

 

Some of these guys are con-artists as well. I recall one guy who had an M4 AEG for sale for £160 with a battery and charger etc. Somebody noticed it was actually a Boys M4.

 

Maybe there should be a Traders sub-forum?

 

I guess it makes no difference to the buyer as long as he gets what he wants and gets a good deal but I just think there's something a bit shady about having people who are obviously out to make a profit selling alongside people who just want to shift old kit.

Agreed. I don't think there's any issue as such with traders using the services, although I think that they should make it crystal clear to any buy who they're dealing with, and exactly why they're using a harder to regulate method of trading, rather than the more common (and arguably more secure) e-commerce channels.
