Hi Guys

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just found this site after visiting a friend who plays airsoft. Looks very interesting. Ive never played but have played paintball and am obsessed with BF2. This looks much better though. More authentic. Can you tell me if the games are more squad based as I would like to play in a team like that rather than the frag fests I'm used to. I'd also be interested in info on first purchases. The sorts of equipment required and tips on where to buy them. Is it worth buying second hand first? if so whats best. Can you specialise on a type of soldier. I see there are lots of different types of gun avaliable. Sorry if I am asking these questions in the wrong thread.

1. Depends on Site/Game for Squad games. Most likely team based (red v Blue, ect, ect ,ect)

2. Rent guns. Find which ones you like. ???? . Profit. Plus Cheap Dpms/US army patterns should do you fine till you really start getting into it.

3. Specialize gear/gun, yes, but in a literal sense no. You are who you want to be.

4. Yes, many guns are available. That means many peoples needs and tastes can be catered for, therefore manufacturer = profit.

HI!

Lord Jebus pretty much covered everything but to clarify a bit

You posted in the right forum. Games are usually two sided with no other clarifications but sometimes people say 'hey do you want to come with me for five minutes so we can flank the enemy'. If you go with a bunch of people regularly, you can form your own squad if your on the same team and assign roles (riflemen, assault, support, etc.). Try to remember that paintball and airsoft are quite different.

If you look for the gear forum in the general discussion forum there is a list of retailers and as LOrd Jebus said DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material - what the british army use.

Best way to find a weapon is to rent and see what you want (Rate of Fire, solidness, length, mag capacity, range, power, et cetera), once you've done that is go down to the shop and just hold some until you find the one you want (oh and post on arnies or look at reviews for more information). Other equipment you need is really personal preference such as bipods, extra magazines, sights, webbing (for carrying your stuff) and sidearms.
