DamnLion
Hey Arnies,First of all, this isn't a commercial post; admins if it's too close to sales, please let me know and I'll remove/move it?Some of you may be seeing some neat stuff happening with 3D printing x airsoft. I'm new to the daytonagun scene, but got my Daytona M4 last month and jumped right into modding it.Realism is paramount! I've developed a bolt catch that locks the bolt back on empty with KWA ERG mags. If there are any Daytona Gun users on here, I thought you might be interested in hearing about this since its been developed mostly through Facebook:http://shpws.me/vzMlThe part is 3D printed in stainless steel and has held up for 600+ rounds. This is still in beta-ish form, being tested by myself and Tony Rizzo of Daytonagun, with a few others on Facebook. There are tentative plans to find a way to machine and harden the part for longevity, but the 3D printed stainless has exceeded my expectations; if you would like to try it out on your Daytona M4, please see the above link.Cheers,-DamnLionEDIT:Here's a video -
uscmCorps
That's really cool! I don't know much about the DG system. Is this a straight drop-in part?
DamnLion
That's really cool! I don't know much about the DG system. Is this a straight drop-in part? I didn't either until a month ago, actually! It is a drop in part, although it requires a switch to the KWA ERG mags from any others DG users have.
BioRage
Nice! When my buddy had his he jerry rigged it so it would bolt lock with the ERG mags, but this is a nice permanent solution. Good going!
steelfallenangel
I didn't know G&P made a lefty friendly GBBR. Part of their facebook group and I've seen your rapid progress. Here's to hoping you can come up with something longer lasting since 600 rounds while impressive won't likely last you a whole days worth of play.

I'm well past 1.5k on the same part now, 600 was my first day of testing, if that helps.
steelfallenangel
What do you mean "mirrored recording"? I mean your ejection port is clearly on the drivers side of the receiver vs. the usual passenger side along with your actual bolt release on the opposite side from it's usual side. PureSilver
He means the video's been mirrored; that is, left and right have switched, as if you were viewing it in a mirror. It's a standard gun.
DeltaZero
Sometimes when you record with some cameras the camera by default mirrors the image. So everything that is on the left looks like its on the right etc..
steelfallenangel
Ah my mistake. I thought he meant he recorded it in a mirror (for whatever reason why I don't know).
