  1. A public airsoft field can't run detailed background investigations on everybody that shows up to determine if they're honest and trustworthy. If private games and backyard wars with a close circle of friends keeps someone happy, then I guess they can get by relying on everybody to be honable and not need things like chronographs and refs. For those of us who like to go out in the field with 50 or more other airsofters at a time, then good rule enforcement is mandatory for the safety of all.
  2. The good news is that the MP7 doesn't take standard AEG gearbox parts, so it shouldn't be easy to get to shoot over that limit. Even if somebody did it would probably be extremely obvious, since they'd likely need to go with an external battery to drive that sort of spring. If worse comes to worse and later on down the road somebody comes out with readily available upgrade parts for it that push it over the limits, the field owners could simply choose to ban MP7s that shoot over the indoor limit from play all together.
  3. There's been at least one review of the Glock 18C AEP that put it at an average 211fps with .2 bbs. What the difference in chrono numbers means, though... well who knows? Possibly one of the other chrono wasn't properly calibrated or it's a freak difference in manufacturing tolerances between the two Glock 18C's that were tested.
  4. I think they're talking about a field that doesn't allow normal AEGs indoors. They want an exception for the MP7, but are afraid they won't get it if it turns out to be too easy to upgrade.
  5. 70-75m/s with .2s and 650-700 rpm seems to be well below what Marui wanted people to believe with their posted figures of 90m/s and 850 rpm. That being said, it would definitely appear to be an improvement over the Glock 18 and those velocity numbers are more than skirmishable, being within GBB range. On the bright side for the mil-sim crowd, we're not likely to see many MP7A1 "sniper" rifles.
  6. Given that it uses a special 7.2v 500MaH battery the upgrade potential is going to be limited regardless of the internals.
  7. I have to admit... lack of adjustable sights on an airsoft SAW doesn't seem like a major handicap to me. Nine times out of ten you can hold the trigger and aim it like a garden hose. I imagine if you have no job, then it doesn't matter which one you get. It's hard to truly enjoy a SAW without a steady source of income paying for the thousands of BBs per game you want to shoot from it. All models of the minimi except the Mk46 and SPW have had and continue to have the ability to take STANAG magazines. It's baffling that Star didn't make this feature functional.

Not the best picture, but I believe the ranger grip and 3-point sling easily push it over the $1k mark, even if you don't count the $300 or so worth of box mags.
