  1. now onto something more general for this gun, the baby seal factor as i call it and the finish. When i pick up both this gun and its clone aeg counterpart the cyma there is some things i notice very quick. The first is that despite my hopes the cyma is considerably heavier then the ghk. The metal itself feels kinda cheap even when put against the cyma so without a doubt i am sure this is a pot metal gun. The finish is also lacking compared to the cyma. there is defects in the paint and looks like it was slapped on with a can of spray paint. Its that flat black color that fails to
  2. Continuing with the review It occurred to me and one person posted on arnies said that the mag still looked to long. realizing i never took a pic with the two mags together i figured i would put it next to the real steel to show everyone how close it is height wise. Now onto other parts The flash hider on this can be removed but it is different then my cyma and initially appeared not to be the 14mm thread. perhaps some with a vfc can tell me what the threading is on this but i currently do not have a caliper. it turns out that the threading below that is 14mm though
  3. It looks like they just placed in a casing inside the original aeg shell to make this work. You will see in the pictures when i post them up tonight once i am out of work and not day dreaming about my new toy. The feed line is in a totally different place so i suspect one might need to do a lot of work to make it fit with a vfc. I suspect the front sets are modified but the receiver could be a candidate for placement
  4. good to know, i wonder if russianmania will have real boxes to ship it in unlike mine
  5. Thats a negative, They sit in aprox the same amount as my WASR-10 (romanian ak47). I will try and take a photo of my wasr with a mag in it and the bolt removed to give you a comparison but i can tell you it is much closer to the real steel when it comes to putting mags in and how far in they sit compared to any aeg ak, including my realsword.
  6. I was getting towards i heard that but being that this is something new on the market, i wanted to go over it head to toe in case some changes had been made. Soon i will run out of external parts to ramble about though and it will be time for the real fun stuff, like what happens after you let the first snow fall cover your mag and then you try and shoot it Can anyone confirm my hunch about the serial numbers?
  7. now some of you might be wondering how off of a totally different mag i can come to the conclusion that this new gbb mag is more realistic then any of the aeg mags sitting beside it. The reason i say this is because of something people rarely think about or compare to and thats the height of the mags. The gbb mag and the real steel mag are the closest when you stack them next to each other and i personally like it. When it comes to the weight of these mags, they tag in at 400g which is about half the weight of a fully loaded real steel mag. I think this gives a healthy balance between real ste
  8. Alright well after shooting a wa m4 i fell in love with the maintenance filled world of gas blow back guns. However not willing to take the plunge of $600 for an all plastic gun that cant take green and has $130 mags i kept an eye out for something out and ended up finding this. Its not an armalite and I am really happy for that. To often have good guy guns like the m4 get the innovations that no others get like the ptw and recently the gbb of the wa m4. This gun offered a cost effective way into the gbb rifle area which on paper looked way better then the wa m4 could be and on par with the we
  9. I have a friend who does costom work building this for me, this it as its coming along... The initial mockup. The muzzle brake fresh off the lathe note that the cocking handle, dust cover, grip frame, and rear sight are all real steel parts! The grips and stock are being made out of cherry wood, it will have a side mounted electric drum magazine, the charging handle moves, and the barrel is going to be removeable on the side somewhat like the real steel. He is debating to put these into a limited production so if you think this might be something your i
  10. I own one of these grenades as well. I fielded this grenade at operation: Dark reckoning. The terrain this grenade was fielded on was very rough and included numerous 40'+ dropoffs. The grenade holds up to exceptional levels of abuse very well but it doesnt do its little spin action well when in the grass or the dirt, its really meant for the smooth indoor enviroments. it works well in the woods but loses its true 360spray
  11. necro but i was wondering what kind of threading was on the barrel and if some one could answer my previous question if the threading can be addapted to take your standard aeg flashider/suppressor/pfi?
  12. slightly necro but... for the silencer is it possible to adapt it for standard 14mm cc? i think this would look great as the 4" with a silver silencer but maybe thats just me.... what do you mean by all over the show? is it atrocious accuracy all over or is it just bad for those long range pistol engagements? numbers help.
  13. 5 bb's at once versus my marushin golfball launcher of pain which only shoots three at once...oh the temptation to have my pistol grip version i turned my marushin into and this one....
  14. I have a wasr-10 which is the romanian version of this rifle. I can say for certain the grip on the real steel is much much thinner but this only applies for the synthetic grip mine has, I know the wood version is a bit thicker. Has anyone tried to put any other brand mags into theirs? I have over 20 star real caps and assorted standards, mids and even a high cap and i would hate to see them all go to waste in the sense that they cant be used on this gun.
  15. Amazing review, i definatly feel as if i have been sold on this gun. What about the magazines? i saw that it wobbled slightly (like the rs) but how is compatability? (sorry if i missed it along the way)
  16. Sad to see that the gun has problems with accuracy and range. Hopefully it will be a defect and some one can chime in saying they get much more range then 50ft because thats rather depressing for a gun that claims 350fps with "average" accuracy and range from gunner
  17. there could be a legal nightmare tied to converting real guns to airsoft guns. i highly addvise against it and its very easy to overpack the powder and turn even plastic bb's into projectiles which could maim or even kill.
  18. I just looked at some pictures of 8mm ammo casings and those shells and i think you are quite clearly in trouble if you want to make rs shells fit in it for replacement. The problem is that either clearly the real 8mm (ie the 7.98) is wider or it is way to short. if the shells are wider you are sol right off the spot because i would bet money the piece which catches and moves the them wont grab and move the round properly and worse, the bolt might not even close to begin with and forcing it would probably result in lots of broken parts. if its simply that the airsoft rounds are way l
  19. awsome review any word on range of the gun and its accuracy as it reaches its limit? i know the old marushin shell rifles (at least the gas ones) had problems with bending the springs and such if you closed them without any shells in it. does this gun suffer from anything of that nature? lastly, do the shells kick out far when you cycle the gun or do they just kind of pop out and dont go anywhere?
  20. I am not positive if this question was answered before but could the entire front block be swapped out with a tm ak47 style block? i love the reciever and i love the stock but i wanted it more like full size ak47 and was wondering if the front end could simply be moved as whole to another gun or vice versus. i would like to see this gun with a full length ak barrel and normal gas block with wood grips but i want to make sure the parts are compatible before i canalabize it.
  21. http://airsoftglobal.com/index.php?cPath=9...60e6f26cda9db88 Are these mags metal? also the other review seems to point towards the idea that this gun will fail very quickly if not modified, can some one who has the gun confirm of deny this after putting a few thousand through the gun?
